  1. Thanks, I know what to avoid. I've got a couple of StarTech docks that have worked for me. They won't hold more than a 3TB drive though, something about not being able to format it. But 2TBs are enough, especially when you can swap them out. Notes
  2. Leilani and I attended this concert when we vacationed in Prague. If you look carefully you might see us in the audience (since I have little hair on top, it's "Find Baldo")
  3. When Stan Getz plays a bossa it's as good as it gets. Me? I like them, but I wouldn't want to play nothing but bossas, after all it's fun to play blues, funk, rock, soca, reggae, salsa, merengue, bolero, disco, swing jazz, motown, rhumbas, and dozens of other styles too. My wife is my musical partner so we share the bossa duties ;) Notes
  4. A customer sent me a couple of MIDI files that he made with my styles. He wanted to know if he owed me any royalties if he fleshed them out and made a recording of it. I told him my styles are tools, and anything you make with my styles is royalty free as long as you don't give the style itself away. He's from France, his English is minimal, my French is even less so I thought I'd ask here instead of asking him. In the beginning of each song are the usual assignments pitch bend, cc 7 (track volume) cc11 (expression), cc10 (pan), cc64 (sustain pedal) and so on. Looking at his file I see these in sequence cc 100=0 cc 101=1 (in another file cc 101=2) cc 6=64 Now I know that if both cc100 and 101 =0 and are followed by cc6 the cc6 denotes pitch bend range But what if cc101 = 1 or 2? I'm hoping to learn something here (I googled and failed) Thanks, Notes
  5. Sorry to hear that. What brand did you use? I've been using them since Windows XP and have never lost one byte.
  6. Can't have too much Stan Getz either:
  7. It's hard to do but you can have too much beer. On the other hand, you can't have too much music.
  8. You can use an internal drive as a USB external drive with a dock. The drives pop in and out like a toaster and you can use either size internal drive. The internal drives made for computers are rather dependable (more than those tiny USB things) and you can have a dozen drives and pop them in or out as needed (of course doing a USB eject first). 10. Well Brother Love is a Preacher or a Priest at the Salvation Show. Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones One of my favorites of the Stones
  11. Thanks for that. This sax player has never heard of Emil before, and will definitely listen to more. On the subject of "Stolen Moments" IMO Mark Murphy is one under-rated singer and this cut features The Muse All-Stars with the great Richie Cole on alto sax. Stolen Moments - Mark Murphy
  12. Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show - Neil Diamond The arrangement and the backing band are ear candy to me, and it's a good song too.
  13. Gigday Gigday Gigday That's all that matters at the moment !!! ?
  14. Jump Into My Fire - Etta James From the "7 Year Itch" album IMHO some of her best work with a great backing band.
  15. Der is as close as I can get Der Kommissar - After The Fire
  16. Sunday Will Never Be The Same - Spanky & Our Gang
