Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are now part of Boris FX.

Same, I'm also a Video Pro X user (they have two "pro" NLE suites, Video Pro X and Vegas) so wondering if the PE firm that bought them a few months ago is going to keep the rest of this going or try to sell it off or part of it. Hoping it all has a good future. Now a PE firm is involved I'm more doubtful we will see Humble Bundle deals. -

Kinda wish I had a focusrite device with a release like this. Wonder why they made this one exclusive (i.e. they don't offer this one separately).

I wouldn't call it all that innovative as a concept. There are at least two big vocal align plugins that share the same concept. That said if this does the job in more sources and better not being a new concept simply doesn't matter. I agree though, anything that isn't a compressor or eq that solves problems is a welcome addition the the market that is oversaturated with the same thing with a different UI or brand name. Thanks to the Melda bundles, I get access to it without even having to think about if it works or not. 😁

I picked it up on some previous sale for $9. Expected it to be better, the voices of the effects where not what my guitar pedal tuned ears expected. I wouldn't pay $30 for it alone personally. Only thing in the bundle I don't have yet, that is of any interest is the Entropic Hall but certainly not something I want to pay real money for either.

I'm sure the hassle will be different depending on where you purchased from for a replacement . Once I got my replacement I haven't had any issues but it does make me wonder what the underlying issue is that caused the DOA situation. Sounds better to me than the Fender. And has a bit more flexibility especially if you play acoustic through it as well.

Sonnox - Restoration and Noise Reduction Tools on sale, to be retired
Brian Walton replied to Michael Docy's topic in Deals
Anything with environmental noise (and not a static type in a certain frequency range is going to be difficult on anything other than vocals (we have seen enough AI training on vocals in particular that tools have been tailored to this). That said, I had good experience using CalrityVX to help isolate bird chirping from environmental background noise without getting into fine tune editing. I'd say run a demo of a few options and see what the results are like before investing in a tool. -
Looks like it was UAD plugin related. I deleted all the files related to that. Reset the scan again but Sonar scans a bunch of plugins but then gets stuck on some random VST3 First it was AAS Lounge Lizard Session Now it is stuck on DAWsome LOVE I manually force the rescan failed plugins multiple times. Supertone Clear doesn't say it failed at any stage but still crashes Sonar. Other plugins seem fine so far and CbB still works with Supertone Clear, but Sonar does not.

Every time I try to load Supertone Clear in Sonar - Sonar freezes. The program loads fine on the same computer running CbB as well as other DAWs like Reaper. Trying to make the switch over to Sonar with CbB about to be sunset, but this is certainly going to be an issue. Anyone else have Supertone Clear (on the latest version, with success in the current Sonar build)? https://www.supertone.ai/en/clear

Audio Plugin Deals - ✨ Experience Unrivaled Acoustic Realism: Room360 Plugin
Brian Walton replied to fjz's topic in Deals
Not sure the history of the one in the OP but seems like a fly by night company I've never heard of before and could go belly up in less time than a well established company that made DearVR, which should have some fairly stable code for Windows users for the near future. If you are a MAC user, you can expect your plugin to only work on the current OS anyway. I wish the company in the OP success, just pointing out I've never heard of them and don't see anything in the way of a long history of support. -

Can do that with DearVR for free now (used to be an expensive plugin). -
Thanks, that worked. Re-mapping plugin categories manually now.

New FREE version/tier of the venerable Cakewalk Sonar

I kind of thought so too but the Themes in that folder don't show up in my actual SPLAT edit: looks like it is now actually needed in this folder instead: -

You are safe with X3 Producer. But the last version of Sonar Platinum I'm not sure if there is the periodic call back to the mothership or not. It was the first move to no longer have the serial + registration key, so it needed a Cake server to authenticate in the first place (or the online portal to upload the export file and then import the response file. It isn't clear to me what that is going to look like long term. -
Haven't had an error with Splat or CbB in years, but this new Sonar version seemed like it was working ok until today I get this error (even after a reinstall) Anyone else getting this?

I believe the off-line auth is possible for X3, but Platinum I thought I recall as needing to phone home (or use an offline computer plus a portal generated number - thus if they shut that down, future installs would go away). My personal concern here is that X3 did not have the theme editor, so the look I'm missing isn't available for it. So it seems X3 might be the only fall back option for those that need a real off-line - no dependency solution. Last version of X3 is in the ballpark of 10 years old now. Edit: installed Splat to see what would happen - there was no option to import themes so this provides no value to me at this time.
