Free : Newfangled Audio Pendulate (no iLok required!)
Jacques Boileau replied to TheSteven's topic in Deals
The page says: 'PLEASE NOTE THE INSTALLERS ARE NOT WORKING! WE ARE FIXING THE PROBLEM AND HOPE TO BE UP SHORTLY.' -
Sorry, mine's gone... ?

Funny, I tried refreshing the group buy counter page and the numbers keep changing in every direction. Number of required participant for next tier is a number between 5 and 12 randomly! ☺
-
I also have the Waves email code I won't use if someone needs one.
-
That's what I thought, thanks for confirming. I love freebies, but it doesn't have the same good feeling the second time around! Although I am ok with second free beer... ?

Is this offer any different than the Reason lite giveway at Plugin Boutique back in July? I am not that knowledgeable in Reason software yet and since I got Reason lite rack back then at Plugin Boutique, I am wondering if this Waves offer is just the same and I should just ignore it or am I missing something.

Comes down to 39$ with the code, quite cheap. But... how many LA-2A emulation plugins does one need... I wonder...

Amplitube panning problem in Cakewalk
Jacques Boileau replied to SebFri's topic in Instruments & Effects
I'd love to help, but this is really weird. All I can say is that I am using Amplitube 4 all the time and have had no panning problems. I am using version 4.10.0, the latest. I use a stereo track for my guitars and send the left input of my Scarlett 2i4 to it. Here is how my track looks like for my lead guitar of my current project. Panning this track works as expected. I even tried removing all the other effects after Amplitube, just in case, and panning still worked. One thing you could try is the new Cakewalk Channel Tools plugin. Well its not new but it was re-introduced recently. You might get better results and in any case it is a better panning tool than the pan button. Just put that as the last plugin in your chain and use that for panning. -
It is now free for Focusrite users through Plug-in collective. Check your accounts!

Nice freebie. I got it a year or so ago when they gave it away then too. It's a compressor I go too quite often. It sounds great, got a side chain and nice presets. Because of its side chain I use it a lot for ducking. For example, I throw one on my vocal echo bus and using the vocals on the side chain I duck the echo a bit while there is singing. Also useful to duck the bass a bit on kick hits, etc.

Great, things are getting back to normal again!

Wow, this is getting very nice indeed! You leave me no choice Adam, I'll have to install it and try it out later today. ? Some people like flat looking controls, which is fine, but I'm on the opposite side of the scale and enjoy 3D eye candy interfaces. The more 'equipment' like it looks, the more I love it. This is excellent work! Can't wait to see what you'll do with the faders....

Hum, strange, I just looked at my installation of the free SSD5 VSTi and it shows up correctly in Cakewalk and I took a minute to check the registry and isVst is set to 1. your problem must not be happening to everyone, but I sure wonder why it happens to some and not to others. I don't know what to make of it.

Being a software developer myself, I can't help but try to figure out what might be the problem. I just like puzzles I guess. ? I tried analyzing this to see what could be the difference between our working install and those that do not show the plugins. Of course I have little to go on to do detective work, but still. The difference I see from my install, and I presume Jonathan's, and those of Patrick and Milton is the language Windows is installed in. Ours is English (although I am a French speaking Canadian I always have used Windows in English), theirs is not. Although we should be tempted to say "it shouldn't make a difference", I have learned in almost 40 years of software development that this kind of statement is only true until we figure out what the problem is. Maybe something to investigate...

What's the difference between Melodyne 5 Editor & Studio
Jacques Boileau replied to Frank DeFede's topic in Deals
A friend of mine sent me tracks a few weeks ago of a song he was doing with a female singer. He wanted me to do the guitars on it. I listened and the woman had a very nice voice and sang very well. But hey, I have Melodyne I acquired recently and know how to use it, so I decided I could probably make her singing even better! Yeah! I loaded her track in Melodyne, looked at the gray rectangles, looked at all her orange blob notes. They all, without exception, where dead in the middle where they belonged. I picked up my jaw from the floor, closed Melodyne and went on composing the best guitar parts I could for it. It was a pleasure through headphones to hear that voice as intimate as it could be for hours while I composed the guitars. Great experience. Strangely enough, because of confinement, I haven't even met the singer yet. On the other hand, I do use Melodyne on my own band's male singers to help our recordings a bit. It does a great job there and is needed! ? -
And you open yourself for crossgrade to standard on any of the 4 elements in the future as you progress!

Have you tried to see if they are simply marked as excluded for some reason? Just launch 'utilities/Cakewalk Plug-in manager' and tick 'Show Excluded', then click on the different categories and look for anything that should not be included for you. If you find them, there is a button to enable them. The other things that could have happened is that the VST Scan paths in preference might have lost a directory where you have those installed or, if you are looking at your plugins sorted by categories, that their categories have changed for some reason, try and sort them by manufacturer you may find them that way. Since Cakewalk cannot uninstall VSTs and VSTis, they have to still be there somewhere...
-
Ditto! It was 99$ for Nectar 3 standard including Melodyne 5 element not too long ago...
-
I had enabled them manually before. They are not showing up in a standard install. You had to go in plugin manager to remove their exclusion. I haven't checked my new install for them yet. But you may have to re-enable them again after the install, expecially if you removed the old version before installing. If you don't remember how to enable them, search this forum and you'll find help on that. There is also a video on YouTube by Mike Enjo showing how to. These are great plugins, well worth the effort to get them back! Good luck!

MRH810 V2 LEAD SERIES GUITAR AMPLIFIER Intro
Jacques Boileau replied to Jesse Bruce's topic in Deals
What I do like in the Nembrini, and seem to plague many other amp sims, is no low end muddiness or brittle mids with distortion. That puts me off quickly with many amp sims. This one is very smooth, as I am sure others are, but I found one to my taste. This one makes me feel like going in my studio, pick up a guitar and play non stop like never before. That's a very good quality for an amp sim as far as I am concerned. -

Bummer! Hopefully you don't have too many and you can easily recreate them in v2. Has the interface changed much from v1 to v2? I never had/tried v1. -
Cakewalk screen turns foggy white and stops working
Jacques Boileau replied to Steve Leighton's question in Q&A
And it says 'not responding' in the title bar, right? This means something either with drivers, plugins or Cakewalk has gone wrong and is in a loop that won't come out of. It is quite similar to a crash but the program doesn't end. It has happened to me a few times. The only solution is to close Cakewalk and start again. Note though, that it does not mean the problem lies with Cakewalk. Cakewalk uses drivers and plugins coded by others that can do this. But in the end it's Cakewalk that's affected and the one that hangs. This is one of the reason I save often and why I have setup the auto save feature to a relatively short period. It has saved me quite a few times. There is a post on this forum on steps how to send memory dumps when Carewalk crashes or hangs to the developers. You may want to get acquainted with that and send them the data. They may solve your problem and everyone benefits. -

This forum is such a waste of time... well, I mean you guys made me spend a whole morning playing with this thing to try it out, out of curiosity. Just could not stop, love it and could not find a preset I didn't like! I play rock, blues and clean stuff. A lot of amp sims are geared towards metal, this one is more up my alley. Tried with my Strat, Les Paul and Ibanez. All sounded good. I have Amplitube and like it, but the interface is irritating sometimes. And not all presets are great. This one doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but simpler to use with scalable UI and since I am not looking for effect heavy sounds, it's all good, I can add some externally. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! I could have spent the morning sorting my sock drawer instead! I don't know why I keep coming here... eh... yes I do... ? Sooo, after lunch I'll spend 29$US (which comes to roughly a zillion $CAN) on this beauty.
