  1. Ok, I went for it. You can thank me later when it sells for $14.99 during Black Friday.
  2. I guess I'll bite, then.
  3. I think a lot (if not all) of the video tutorials are on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ComputerMusicMag/videos
  4. Sheesh. Well, at least the discounts look more impressive.
  5. Is my memory failing me or were Tina Guo libraries around $150 or less at some point? I remember there being a sale where you could get one of them for $50.
  6. I'm trying to freeload here. Seriously, though: would that give me access to the tutorial videos, or are they gone for everyone? Edit: I mean subscribing or buying back issues.
  7. Some of the video tutorials look interesting, but most of them say "no download". Issue #307 has "60 years of the synth" as a theme and has some videos that each seem to focus on a different decade. #308 has the 90s and #309 the 00s. Looks like you can get those via WeTransfer. Any recommendations what else to download?
  8. I think the main difference is that with Forever 29 you get one plugin each month and you can cancel after three months if you want, but with the Mega Bundles you need to pay the whole year until you get the voucher, and you have to select all plugins in a single purchase. PA currently doesn't have 10 plugins I want so for me that voucher would go to waste. Edit: Also the Mega bundle doesn't seem to include all products. It's missing at least the Native Instruments and Izotope products, not sure if something else, too.
  9. Coincidence? I think not.
  10. I came across a program called Demucs that can process a song and save the instruments on it as separate files. Apparently it has been around for some time but this is the first time I've heard about it. At the moment it seems to be able to split the song into four tracks: vocals, bass, drums and other (which in my case has been guitars). So far I have tested it with only a couple of rock songs (with vocals, two guitars, bass and drums), but I'm telling you folks: this program has no business being as ridiculously good as it is. Yes, there is some smearing and every once in a while the instruments bleed over to other tracks, but overall the instrument separation is really, really good. I have only tried it with default settings and I am not exaggerating when I say that this has already revolutionized my transcribing process. It's like getting access to the separate stems of a song and it feels amazing to hear the bass of a song so clearly for the first time in your life. I have also tried Stagecraft Simple Stems but this is in a completely different league. Demucs is available as Python package on PyPi (installed with pip) but there is also a GUI for Windows and Mac. I haven't tried the GUI but if you're at all familiar with Python installing and using this is easy-peasy. Installation instructions and resources: https://github.com/facebookresearch/demucs GUI: https://github.com/CarlGao4/Demucs-Gui If you need/want to transcribe songs I wholeheartedly recommend you give Demucs a try!
  11. This upgrade offer is available again until October 15. Use the code ECHOESAROUND. https://www.softube.com/tape-echoes
  12. Nucleus is on my shopping list, but I already own the lite version. If I buy directly from Audio Imperia they offer an upgrade discount. I guess there's no way to get that when buying from NI.
  13. So, uh... Has someone used Bioscape for music that isn't ambient or trailer music? Everytime I watch a video praising Bioscape I feel old and stupid, because all I can think is "it's just noise!" and that I must be missing something.
  14. Here's a direct link to the Mac download page: https://services.audified.com/download/GKAmps-3P-300-Mac
  15. According to their website it also works on Mac OS X 10.11 - macOS 12. Mac options are: AAX 64b, AU 64b, VST3 64b, Apple Silicon Native.
  16. The bundle includes the following products: BeatSkillz Ramp ($49) Melda MWaveFolderMB (€49, not sure about the $ price) Inphonik RX950 Classic AD/DA Converter ($19) Offer available until October 31st. The vanilla MWaveFolder is part of the free bundle, but the MB version is not.
  17. Plugin Boutique has the upgrade from GK 2 on sale for $19. Looks like the lite edition is free at the moment, normally $9.
  18. I just want to reiterate this: $39 is the best deal you will ever get*. If you're interested, buy it now or pay the full price later. * unless they decide to do something they have never done before.
  19. I thought this was a good sale overall. I didn't buy anything I need, but it was nice to get some possibly useful plugins for cheap.
  20. Looks interesting. Is there any real need to get any of the papers, canvases or other stuff that they sell separately? They remind me of game DLCs.
  21. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't notice that. I think the upgrade offer is available pretty often, though.
  22. Thanks. I don't receive PA's emails anymore for some reason. I have tried resubscribing to no avail. I wonder if I have upset them somehow? "No vouchers for you!" Anyhow, looks like there isn't anything interesting in the "any plugin for $29" pile so I'll just get one of the amps for free.
