Robins and their young in my backyard

Yeah, it is great to see the blue eggs all of a sudden spring to life. Thanks for sharing your comments, I enjoyed reading them. I did manage to get a picture before they hatched.- 15 replies

Thank you very much. One thing I try to do is make something interesting and different all the way through rather than just repeat the same thing over and over. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail ?- 15 replies

Thank you! Yes, the song wasn't long enough for the video so I had to improvise. That's why there is some reverse stuff in there!- 15 replies

LOL Mark, so true! I can remember trying to learn it way back in 70-71 timeframe. Over the years I've changed hand positions a few times. In my neck of the woods, coyotes roam the streets at night, and I've seen foxes, fisher cats, turkeys and deer. We live in a development that is sandwiched between small patches of woods and then a golf course. On one side of us through the woods there is a farm. On a couple of occasions, some cows got loose and while we were walking the dog at night, we could hear mooing from the woods. I've caught skunks, possums, chipmunks and squirrels in the back yard in the past, but it is pretty quiet now, except for all of the rabbits that are always around.- 15 replies

My son helped me set up his video server at home and connect it to use my phone as a camera. In my back yard, a robin built a nest under my picnic table. I set up the phone to capture the videos that you can see below. I included my version of Blackbird as the music accompaniment. It wasn’t long enough, so I added in a reversed section in the middle to space it out. You can see close to the end that one of the robins was none too happy with the phone capturing his actions. He gives it the evil eye and then flies into it. Today, the nest is empty and the young ones are flying around.

Hi Andy - thank you. You know, when I sit down with my guitar, that is one of the songs I play, but I haven't quite got all of the chords right yet, and I could never get close enough to McCartney's voice to sing it I don't think. Maybe I'll give it a try at some point though!

Thanks Freddy - loved your comment!

Hi Lynn - thank you for listening and commenting on it! Steve

Thanks Bjorn. It did take a lot of time and research to get it right. It's one of my favorites off of one of my favorite Beatles albums. Steve

Thanks Jim - I appreciate your comment!

Those are all built into Nectar - I also sometimes send the vocals to reel adt (waves) but just a little bit. And sometimes I use Vocal Rider (Waves) to even things out if needed.

Thank you!

Thank you! - been awhile, hope you are doing well!

Hi Jack - thanks. For the vocals, I used Nectar 3 - and since I am not a great singer, I used Melodyne on some portions. There are 18 total tracks of vocals, 9 for me and 9 for @kiwichrys. Of those nine, there are three for each part (John, Paul and George). It took some work with Melodyne to line them all up closely.

Thanks Mark - I'm going to go back and maybe make some adjustments to the low voices.

I found this video that was posted by Richard Buskin. I think he took an official video and put his audio to it. I took the audio out and put my version of Because. I play instruments and do some vocals on it and @kiwichrys (from Bandlab) adds more vocals. She did all 9 vocal tracks as I also did...but she handles the high McCartney part better.

I had a Texas Instruments that was smaller than an ipad. It had a whopping 16KB memory pack that plugged into it and was about the size of an old mouse. Shortly after that, I went to Commodore and never went back. I had a VIC20, a 64 and a 128. I didn't get the Amiga. My buddy and I interfaced to the VIC 20 to create an 8 bay power supply tester. He did the hardware AtoD converter and I wrote the software in machine language no less. They sold an EEPROM blower so that we could make a cartridge that would start up the program when we turned on the computer. Those Commodores were pretty powerful. I remember spending a couple of hundred bucks at Lechmere on an old dot matrix printer that printed at about 10 characters per hour (LOL - slight exaggeration). Then I got an IBM 286 and spent an additional couple of hundred on memory sticks that I think got me 8MB more RAM. I also had a couple of huge monsters from Nixdorf that ran CPM on which I was able to play wonderful amber PONG games.

Lynn, this is absolutely fantastic! Great work, love it.

I wrote this a while back, but updated it recently. More of a classical feel, something that fits my morose political and cultural outlook of late. https://baselines.com/?p=5827
