Okay, this is the festive moment to get my first Xils synth.

Love those Retromods, particularly the Lead one, as it captures the Nord Lead pretty well.

Seventh Heaven also convolution based and uses the same proprietary Fusion-IR approach like Reverberate 3 and VerbSuite Classics, but they all provide different tweakability, and Seventh Heaven Professional is the most developed of them all. But I gladly stick to VerbSuite. Anyway, those Bricasti wav-files (non Fusion-IR) you found are generic and can even be used in free convolution reverbs.

IIRC these are freely available due to Bricasti’s explicit request thereto: as Liquidsonics are using Bricasti M7 IRs, they have to allow everyone to use them. Of course, Reverberate (and 7th Heaven) provide all sorts of tweakability settings. I use the SlateDigital VerbSuite to run these free Bricasti IRs.

Well, I’m pretty pleased with the Ostinato collection. Didn’t get Noire, but that one’s too much jazz, wood and brazz.

Although it shouldn’t necessarily matter, products are often associated to the kind of buyers they attract. Which is the main reason why I never owned an Audi, BMW or Mercedes, even though these are quality car brands. I did go Apple all the way, primarily for the hardware-software integration.

I was thinking of getting their rack modules back in the day, but then IK and PSP launched similar offerings. And I already got Slate VMR which I dearly love. I guess three racks should suffice.

I did get the original instruments bundle (the then called Creative Edition) and added the Electra 88 as well as the Manley VoxBox. Guess I’m okay until I get the rest for $99 too.

Yep, all three separate. And sadly Suite isn’t offered anymore.

And those added freebies were quite nice too. Already had Analogue Waveforms Distortion and Feedback, Dark Ambient and Radiophonica, so I added Airwaves. Likewise, already had Ian Boddy’s Beatologue, and gladly added Drumalogue.

Got the 11 Suite and added Friktion, Algoritm and Objekt. This should suffice for a while
