  1. Taiko Drum simulation. Pretty good. Even for LE users.
  2. Me. Two words (or three). Instrument-based presets.
  3. That was a one-off opportunity, El, a unique bundle sold by Image Line for $89 containing 7 UVI titles, including Shade. I got the bundle for $71 with a 20% off voucher. But heck, they’re selling Plate as well as Sparkverb for $29 now, so it’s not unlikely that Shade will get that low in the future.
  4. Description: Looking like an instrument from the future, the Chapman Stick has a range and playability reminiscent of a piano, combined with the expressiveness and tone of a guitar/bass hybrid. The Stick is held vertically and played with both hands using a technique known as tapping. Rather than plucking or using a pick, tapping involves rapidly pressing the strings into the frets to cause notes to sound. This unique invention has a distinctive, harmonically-rich sound capable of percussive staccatos, sparkling chords, and buttery smooth melodies. Evolution 10 String Stick lets you experience this truly amazing sound in a virtual capacity, meticulously sampled to recreate all the capabilities of the original instrument. The standard model Stick features ten strings, divided into a set of five treble strings and five bass strings, giving it a playable range of over 5 octaves. We sampled each string individually, all the way up the instrument’s expansive fretboard. Evolution 10 String Stick automatically determines which strings and frets to use based on adjustable positions for both hands. You can also select where the split point is between the treble and bass ranges on the keyboard. Having factors like these automated make it a breeze to play from a MIDI keyboard, all while sounding natural and authentic. We developed the library in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah's most venerable recording studios. Guy Randle, the owner and recording engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, incorporated analog audio equipment to skillfully sculpt and emphasize the rich tonal qualities of the instrument. Evolution 10 String Stick includes both the as-recorded signal as well as an enhanced signal that can be blended to your taste. We can’t wait for you to explore all the features and presets included in Evolution 10 String Stick and let its unique sound bring inspiration to your musical creations. Key features: 14.5 GB of uncompressed samples covering articulations such as sustains, muted notes, natural harmonics, plus special effects like string slaps and divebombs. Legato samples for slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs. Pricing: $139 USD (regularly $179). This $40 off introductory discount lasts until May 26th, 2023. Format: This sample library is powered by the KONTAKT Player, so it does not require any additional software.
  5. You want to say beta types, roight?
  6. The infamous Chapman Stick, finally! $139 until May 26th (list $179) https://www.orangetreesamples.com/products/evolution-10-string-stick
  7. Sadly not, TTF. You could load your sounds into Falcon’s sampler but that’s quite the work. Which is why I’m happy to have Sparkverb on the side as well. And both Plate and Shade, of course, as they’re not in Falcon.
  8. Would this work with Gear Credits?
  9. Possibly, but some of these are still CPU behemoths, so that may be the reason why they’re not included.
  10. Pretty good dev. Love what they did with Sektor.
  11. Love that Spring Machine, best ever, with choirs and real strings added. But is Spaces Apple Silicon compatible yet?
  12. This is the blurb I got: ”Iron Pack 7 - Soprano upgrade is available to existing owners for only $2” And here’s the link: https://soundiron.com/3712865/checkouts/96cb7d19b445761cf50693b12377c334?channel=buy_button&mc_cid=48e85e64d4&mc_eid=8631bcff3c
  13. A friend to cherish. Those were their best. Just listen to Firth of the Fifth and The Carpet Crawlers.
  14. Twas in my mail from them. Maybe they know I’m a penny pincher.
  15. If ever they go as low as 70% off on their Vintage series again, you’ll tell us, won’t you Larsy?
  16. UVI Plate in da house. Clearly the best deal at 70% off. Still had a personal no-limit $20 voucher, so $9 well spent.
