I decided to go over to the Magix forums and check out the status of Acid. That one might get the cut.

I got plenty of those. There's not enough libraries to tempt me. -
This forces its way into Windows startup.

I almost bought Falcon but you realize when you buy a rompler you have to buy more sounds for it. Unlike Kontakt where a developer can create a library without the need of the player. -
This came with a lot of preset packs.

I've got it running off a HDD. It works fine if you don't use the Syntronik stuff

Just how bad has today's "popular" music become?
kitekrazy1 replied to craigb's topic in The Coffee House
Muskrat Love if I hear it I want to go on a tri state killing spree. They were a one hit wonder. Anyone remember their TV show? The reason why music is considered so bad today is it's over-manufactured. Too much quantity. 30 years from now people will consider it good. -

APD Deal: Lost Harpsichords Bundle by Realsamples - 80% Off
kitekrazy1 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I can do that with my Casio piano and it has a sustain pedal. Not sure what an aficianado is but that seems where the DAW market is. -

I wonder why there's a need for such instruments unless you are doing mockups. -
It's the browser that's terrible. As for activation that is not an issue. Many of the sounds are a replacement as a GM module. Smaller libraries that will load easy from a HDD, not named Syntronik. Library structure is not as great as Kontakt. Basically if you wanted to separate it among 3 drives there's a risk moving them and not work. Most likely you would have to reinstall.

Arturia releases free "Analog Voyage" preset pack for Analog Lab
kitekrazy1 replied to Solidos's topic in Deals
This is starting to be a turn ff for me. I have over 20 of those things. The issue I have with NI is no option to download direct even a Kontakt update without contacting support. They also immediately delete your downloads. One I have problems with it Izotopes and it's on a weak wireless connection. If gives you that error Well This Is Awkward bit no error code to contact support. Most companies give you the option to download from the web. -

No. I never have an issue with Arturia Software Center. I think when I had a similar issue the site was down or could be too many users. -

I must be that one for NI. What's worse in other forums there are 10 posts of people telling you it works for them. That's why I never bother with Steam forums. I don't want to hear it's working for them because I want those experiencing the same misery I go through. I guess that's the one good thing with Apple OS updates, it breaks for everyone in the DAW world. -
Also an inferior playback engine to Kontakt. That price is probably for the licensing to Haiion.

Thank you and we’ll try to make it up to you in the future. I guess the new ones don't count. ? -
Mine is more of too many plugins. They make great stuff and it's stable.

Is Win10 taking an unusually long time to boot?
kitekrazy1 replied to bitflipper's topic in The Coffee House
Odd mine was already disabled. My fastest startup machine is also the oldest running an AMD FX6300. -
I think just about every developer has their own ASIO driver,

Their top DAW is already a sub and that option existed before the sub pandemic. There is also Acid 365. They have a lot of software that isn't a DAW. Lackluster upgrades from former Sony software doesn't help. There are people still using Acid Pro 7. It's rare that when software divisions are sold things get better. I guess that's what happens if you don't have the complete development team. You can be sure some enshitification will happen. Image Line's CEO is a former Magix guy. Maybe Image Line will buy them -doubtful. I think there is more doom when companies try the sub model. Those prices go up as well. Adobe subs have doubled since they first came out.

Live is an EDM first DAW. I always think of deleting more factory packs. Their orchestra ones remind me of soundfonts. I'd bet anything in Kontakt that translated into the sampler would not sound the same. Project Sam and Spitfire have made packs but I wouldn't buy them.
