  1. @Twisted Fingers This seems to be a bug with using Lenses. The work-around is to switch Lenses to "None" if you don't use Lenses, or if you do use them, go to "Manage Lenses" in the pull-down and make sure that "Keyboard Shortcuts" is checked off. Then have your customized Key Bindings loaded and save your Lens(es) as needed. The custom bindings will now maintain across new sessions.
  2. @Jon Sasor I had this issue taken up with @Morten Saether in a private message. However, it remains unresolved. My help .dat files are up to date for the latest release, and Morten sent me a .json file to add to the Help Module folder. I still have the issue of no clip text in the module. I now notice that this is only true on my Windows7 machine. My windows 10 machine has the new clip Help text displaying. However, on both machines, there is no Help text displayed at all when the module is floating.
  3. @noynekker Thanks for the advice! I did check out AZ, but it's way more complex than what I need. Just finally figuring out (again) how to use ACT does the job for me. Thanks again
  4. @Hughb I'm just saying that Automap and Cakewalk worked fine for me (for my minimal needs in that regard) before and now it does not. So something changed, it seems, with the Bandlab version. Anyway, not having had to ever figure it out before, it is now time for me to familiarize myself with setting up ACT or Generic surface control from scratch. It seems that is all I have to do. That is certainly better solution for me than going out and buying another piece of hardware. Thanks anyway.
  5. @noynekker Are you saying that AZ is software that makes the Impulse work with Cakewalk, or that I would need to get another physical controller? I don't care about using the Automap software specifically. It works wonderfully with Ableton where I use it more to its potential. But with CbB I just want to use the Impulse with simple transport and mixer control in addition to note input...
  6. My Novation Impulse keyboard/controller surface used to work fine with its Automap software and Cakewalk Sonar. Now with CbB, I simply cannot get my keyboard to work any more for both note input AND a controller surface - specifically in regard to the transport buttons. Either I have the Impulse as a controller with the hardware surface controls functioning (thru Automap) and then the keys WILL NOT transmit notes, OR I remove the Automap controller functioning and the keys work again for notes, but the hardware controls no longer function. I have been using the Impulse with Automap and Cakewalk for years with everything working fine. I have uninstalled Automap, re-installed it and ran the initialization wizard but to no effect. What has changed? What do I do to get all functions working again??
  7. Thanks for the ProCh tip! And yes that is correct - I am still not seeing Help Module content for clips. CbB Help Module sample.mp4
  8. See my Aug 14th submission, "Updated HELP MODULE info not displaying" ....
  9. Updated HELP MODULE info not displaying I am bringing this submission over from the "Feature Overview" post, as it seems to me to be a bug: I find that the updated Help Module info is not showing. For example, hovering over Clips or the ProChannel modules cause nothing to be displayed in the Help Module. Other Help texts show as expected. I received this advice as a possible fix: "Copy the files from C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Help Module and paste them to the %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Help Module folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Help Module)." and "if files are missing from the user directory holding down the SHIFT key while starting CbB should restore them. If the help files are not part of this process, they need to be added. This is the job of partial personalization." However, I have done the above mentioned file moving, confirming the new file dates copied to the <username> Help Module folder. This, unfortunately, did not correct the issue. Neither did opening CbB while holding the SHIFT key. Still no added help module text is displaying. I also notice that IF the Help Module is floating (not docked) AND IF the browser pane is collapsed, the Help Module will not display anything that the cursor hovers over. CbB Help Module sample.mp4
  10. KEY BINDINGS "randomly" not obtaining I believe this is an issue not just related to this release, but... I have found that setting custom Key Bindings seem to randomly not remain set through to following sessions despite "Save changes for next session" being ticked on the appropriate Preferences page. This is true even of previously unassigned, non-default key bindings. However, exporting my custom profile when I make changes (as I try to always do) and then importing it each time I start a new session is a work-around, but it would be nice to have "Save changes" work...
  11. @scook I too have copied this file dated 7-31 but still get no clip display in the help module, hovering over audio or MIDI clips. I also notice that IF the Help Module is floating (not docked) AND IF the browser pane is collapsed, the Help Module will not display anything that the cursor hovers over.
  12. I have just done the above mentioned file moving, confirming the new file dates copied to the <username> Help Module folder. This, unfortunately, did not correct the issue. Neither did opening CbB while holding the SHIFT key. Still no added help module text is displaying. It is not a major issue for me, but just saying...
  13. Great update! However, for me the updated Help Module info is not showing. For example, hovering over Clips or the ProChannel modules cause nothing to be displayed in the Help Module. Other Help texts show as expected. Weird?!
  14. @scook That's it!!! Thank you so much! I never would have figured that out. Guess I gotta read up on Lenses...
  15. Yes, I have no doubt mine should be this way as well, @Mandolin Picker. The Video View shows up fine on my other machine. But I'm at a loss as to why it on longer works on this one! Thank you, tho
  16. I submitted this to Support and am still waiting on a reply, but figured I would see if anyone here has any ideas in the meantime... I am using Cakewalk, latest ver. (build 79) on two machines, one Windows 7 pro and one Windows 10, and am working on some video scoring. I have a video and audio project loaded in each and Cakewalk on the W7 machine (since update last week to ver. 2019.07) no longer will show the Video View. In fact Video View is no longer available as a choice in "Views" menu - it doesn't even show up in the list. Neither will pressing shortcut Alt+V or right clicking in Video Thumbnails strip and choosing "Open Video View" open the video view. (Thumbnails of the imported video, however, DO display in this strip.) It is as if all video viewing function has been removed. Cakewalk on my W10 laptop has view video functions as normal . I actually have since downgraded to previous version of CW and Windows environment using System Restore to a earlier date, but this had no effect in correct the problem. What is going on here??!!
