Just a bit of info. The Crowhill Company (Christian Henson ex of Spitfire). have dropped CodeMeter as it was causing issues. And it had inhibited sales due to reported issues.

Today I had a notification on Facebook that they will be using users posts to train their Meta AI on. You can submit an objection that will be "Considered". I objected on the basis that I put my own work on my FB pages such as songs and images that are copyrighted. And that I objected to their use for training as it has the potential for artists original work to be misused. And the result was that I was removed from all AI training. I know it is very small but feels like a little victory.

Worked for me too. Thanks !

Rigid Audio has set free another Kontakt 7.2 instrument. Interference is a drum/loop/noise instrument. (I'm sure this is not that old either) https://www.rigid-audio.com/products_interference.html

Where else do guys go for deals? (Not a deal, but deal-related)
TracingArcs replied to Lionel's topic in Deals
No it's not ! I live round the corner from Deal. It's bloody cold as the wind blows straight onshore from the North Sea and English Channel. Also known as Gods waiting Room. As it's a favourite place for retired folk. -
The excellent Variety of Sound (VoS) has released a new VSTplugin . FeenstaubTX is a transient exciter/expander. Available for Windows only and in VST3. Including resizable UI. preset management. https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/blog/

I had the privilege of meeting and working with him many years ago. A really nice bloke. And willing to talk and share knowledge. RIP.

VT is an excellent human. And generous with his support. Regarding Decent Sampler. There is little available as simple to use as DS. However I have found that the VST3 version is flaky on Cakewalk. But the VST2 version is fine (no issues with VST3 on Studio One). Plus a lot of freebies in DS format on Pianobook, Dave Hilowitz and VT amongst others.

Jon Meyer (Somervillesounds) has released another freebie. Antiquarian Echoes. A Vst version of his original Pianobook instrument. But now with more sounds and editing in a Vst version. Large, lush ambient guitar pads. The video gives a good taste of its sounds. https://somervillesounds.com/the-antiquarian-echo/

Started my gig-going in the early 70's. Lots of King Crimson throughout that time and others like Colloseum (ended up being taught by John Hiseman for a year at Goldsmiths college), All the Mahavishnu Orchestra Uk dates in the 70s. The debut of Thin Lizzy. And the launch gigs of Roxy Music. Got completely high just breathing the air at Wembley with Hawkwind, Man, Pink Fairies and others. Most outstanding one was Wembley 75. On the bill - Elton John, The Beach Boys, Eagles, Joe Walsh, Rufus feat Chaka Khan, Stackridge. (the Beach Boys blew everyone off the stage). Then discovered the amazing live music scene in the pubs across London and the shock of seeing so many "names " sitting in with friends. Eg Phil Collins in a south london pub playing drums with an avant-garde jazz outfit.

Share your sentiments completely PavlovsCat. I was a demoist for PB from the start (under the name Bemused). Recent chat on the site indicating some of the mods have gone and the rest have not heard from Spitfire. An amazing resource for all (and helped Dave Hilowitz - Decent Sampler get a foothold ). There has been talk of setting up elsewhere. But the cost and other issues rule it out.
-
FYI. None of Christian Hensons instruments are available on Pianobook anymore (and have not been for some time). if you ask nicely on the Pianobook Discord. Some kind people will give you a link. Not sure how legit that is. But what remains of the mods there do not seem to mind. Seems Spitfire is not engaging anymore with PB. I would also suggest that people make backups of any Pianobook instruments they have. or download now and do so.

I'm reading on VI-Control and NI site .That this update screws up . A solution for Windows is to install the latest X64 redistributable. But i would suggest hanging back (again!!)

VoS has updated BootEQ to version 4 (Windows only). Incls VST3 and a number of changes under the hood. Free d.load. I use this all the time (esp on female vox - really good) https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/blog/

Variety of Sound has updated the console strip Nasty VCS to MKII. Windows only VST3/2. Love his stuff. And amazing freebies. https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/2024/05/31/nastyvcs-mkii-released/

Re-Activation needed after just 18 days ?
TracingArcs replied to TracingArcs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
My music desktop was built by SCAN here in the UK (music pc specialists). I am off line but however go online once a week for MS updates and any others. I always load Cakewalk and it obviously phones home as I get a toast for Melodyne. So no issues with cookies. And last friday I was on line and loaded Cakewalk with no reactivation issue. But on Monday it had the 11 day warning. It did use to be 6 months but just since March this has happened. Not a big issue. But just a bit annoying not knowing how soon the next prompt will be. -
Re-Activation needed after just 18 days ?
TracingArcs replied to TracingArcs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Well here we go again. Opened up Cakewalk again today (29/4/24) and I have to activate again with 11 days to go. As per this thread last time was 11/4/24 with 13 days to go and before that 25/3/24 with 13 days to go. Is this to be the new "normal" until Sonar is fully released? -

TracingArcs replied to TracingArcs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Exactly. This is Cakewalk by Bandlab not Sonar. And signing in is what I did (and always have done once we moved to within DAW activation). I keep a log of actions taken whenever I renew or install a product so i can track if issues arise. Hence the dates being striking. -

Expires in 13 days. Same message as the 25th March. Was reactivated then as soon as the toast came up, and now. -
Hi I last reactivated CWB (latest version- always keep it updated) on 25/3/24. Just loaded the program again and it's requiring reactivation again (that's 18 days since the last reactivation). Is this the new normal now. Not an issue. But seems rather short.

This rather good. Fits well with their previous (but no longer available) freebies upright and Alt piano.
