Makes sense that Cakewalk people would have some thoughts on this issue. I assume vsti = *.dll and/or *.vst3 file. I noticed that addictive drums 2 also has resources. Does the vstscan.log have any clues? I am not an expert in understanding all the details, but sometimes I have spotted some issues with specific plug-ins. From my limited knowledge, it does seem odd that the issue is only with existing projects. I always assumed that after a rescan existing projects would pick up the latest plug-in details. Maybe someone with knowledge of what goes on "under the hood" has some insights

How to use melodic MIDI loops to follow MIDI Chord track?
User 905133 replied to Misha's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thanks for the clarification; now I understand. I still have some Roland "Intelligent Arranger" Sound modules (CA-30, RA-30), so I understand the concept very well! I created Instrument Definitions for changing control parameters and used block chords in a dedicated MIDI track placed there manually in the staff view. I haven't used them in years, but maybe I will try your method--a folder of chords and progressions in the Media Browser to drop onto the midi chord track. I just have to find the right wall-warts!!! -
How to use melodic MIDI loops to follow MIDI Chord track?
User 905133 replied to Misha's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I am struggling to parse this. Are you saying you want to be able to (1) drop a midi clip from Cakewalk's Media Browser [presumably with note data aligned as full or partial measure / block chords] (2) onto an audio track (3) so that the audio is resampled [transposed] based on the midi notes (4) with the audio stretched or shrunk so the length of the resulting stretch/shrunk audio is the same length as the midi clip? -
Add 500 extra arpeggiator patterns to Cakewalk
User 905133 replied to Starship Krupa's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
As noted above I don't use the Inspector-based Arpeggiator any more, but I was curious about where I had the Alesion Presets. So I found where I had the folder and then copied the folder to where my other arp presets were. So, using "Open Preset" in the arpegiator's list (as opposed to "Load Preset"), they are in the following hierarchy: [My User Folder]** > AppData > Roaming > Cakewalk > Cakewalk Core > Aleson ARP Presets **[My User Folder] is a folder on my Desktop Using the Everything finder tool, it is listed as being at C:\Cakewalk Content. Note: I did not have to reboot Cakewalk; however, after I rebooted Cakewalk, the folder was listed in/accessible from the Open Preset list in the arpeggiator (along with a folder I have called "From E Drive" on an external drive where I had off-loaded a bunch of Cakewalk content. I just checked and it agrees with the Open Preset location. RegEdit say this key is C:\Users\[My User Account]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core. Hope this helps explain the results you have been getting. -
I can see how this might be useful in some circumstances and extremely annoying in others. So, if it is going to happen, it might be nice to have "Rudeness" [blinking buttons and maybe other blinking controls] as a parameter that can be saved in a Workspace as opposed to a [P] preferences or Config setting.

Willoughby . . . Willoughby . . . I get chills when I think of that episode even though I haven't seen it ages. PS: I enjoyed your song and got chills again when I read the webpage.

Well, there are times (as you know) when I get excessively, over-the-top, overly technical beyond what's minimally necessary to get a basic point across. ? I was running IK's Product Manager, saw the updates, looked to see if anybody posted info. about them in the forum yet, and didn't want to spend more time than necessary because we have a Winter Storm on the way and I have to get stuff done in case we get power outages as sometimes occurs when ice happens on branches and power lines.

OS [aka software--Operating Software--needed to run the program] as opposed to (1) the Sound Content or (2) the product which consists of (a) sound content and (b) proprietary operating software needed to do stuff with the sound content. Sorry for any confusion caused by the abbreviation. I made the mistake of assuming that anyone who uses the products would know I was referring to just the product's operating software and not the whole product which includes software content. My bad. Not sure I should abbreviate it US for Underlying Software, which I believe some have also called it.

Not sure if this will help some recently reported issues.

Note: I have not yet updated and tried inserting any TONEX Stomps (from CS) into AmpliTube 5.

I just took a quick look at all of the pages of the Audio Sampling book. It shows up in a reader [book2look.com] that displays 1 scan (2 pages) at a time. If someone wants to learn/read about sampling, I think it would be useful to read online from cover-to-cover, or in sections/chapters as needed. There is a table of contents and an index. If you find most you need a page or two because you already understand most of the content, you might be able to print the image to pdf or grab a screen image. I do not recommend trying to do this with the entire book. The original book is copyrighted 2008. So far as I can see, all of the elements are covered as of that date. If someone who knows almost nothing about real sampling and wants to understand it so they can make use of sampling tools that have come out since 2007, I'd recommend reading the book and reviewing newer product manuals, tutorials, etc. If the book interests you, I suggest contacting T&F/Routledge to see if and when the book will be updated.

I have tried to understand this: and have come up with: This is just a guess.

I have thought of using a directory junction, but I am not clear on how they work. Some questions to try to clarify: If I make a directory junction like this ^^^^, will Cakewalk see/use only D:\Cakewalk Content or will it see/use both as if everything in both Cakewalk Content folders are in a single folder? Also, are there potential problems if there are files or subfolders with duplicate names? Thanks.

Prevent screensaver & monitor standby during playback/recording
User 905133 replied to Caldur's topic in Feedback Loop
There is one reason I can think of: Microsoft sometimes doesn't respect user choices. Very often Windows will change my energy settings--not for every single update, but often enough that I have to change them back to what I had before. So, I agree that computer users need to understand their systems and to know all the ins and outs of setting them up to do music, but at the same time, if the CbB team could figure out a way to respect our power setting needs despite Microsoft's changes, I am for it! -
I don't use the PRV (Piano Roll View), but the Cakewalk Reference Guide says its part of the PRV. Its there. I see that you can turn it on in the PRV by clicking the downward arrow on the View Tab. Evidently that just resizes the content with the PRV. To manually change the size, I used the Vertical Zoom slider on the lower right edge of the PRV. Until someone with more experience using the PRV chimes in, I hope this ^^^^ helps.

FREE 30 Day Pass to Groove 3 from IK (Xmas gift)
User 905133 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
For people who missed it, see this ^^^^^. -
It is a way of saying "I/We made a mistake, did something unintended, etc." It is a more polite form of saying, "I/We F****ed up." For example, in the case of an unintended pregnancy, "Oooops" might mean, "We didn't intend to get married so soon."

No thanks. JMO: I think Groove3 does a very good job at making educational videos, has reasonable rates, and deserves to pay their content creators. -
Wait a sec. Are you saying the cisa report had absolutely nothing to do with this company, their website, or their product?
-
No need for cell phone; can count on fingers.** ? **toes not needed for any spill over.
-
What is that pdf for? The Company? The Website? The Installer? Interesting that cisa.gov reports all sorts of versions/affiliations to Dark Side, but the website and the installer don't have any issues per VirusTotal. Is Virus Total less rigorous than cisa.gov? Is Virus Total fake? Question answered: "Microsoft's conclusion: virustotal.com is fake and randomly generates false lists of malware. Mar 29, 2017" Thanks for the cisa report. Techivation T-Compressor now removed.
