I just noticed this new behavior as well (it's mentioned in the release notes under "Misc" as "Inconsistent AutoXFade with split clips"). Even if it's a small feature change, I think it's a pretty "big deal" workflow-wise that the Automatic crossfade setting now also affects split operations and I think it's good to spread the word.
It's potentially a huge time-saver! But I can definitely see a use case where it would be good to be able to directly perform splits with and without crossfades, without having to toggle Automatic crossfades first. Maybe two different keyboard shortcuts would be something for the new Cakewalk Sonar?
I'm not in studio now to check for this, but i think you need to switch Ripple All on.

I'm curious if simply going to the bandlab website and trying to sign in from there is successful. As I have stated in an earlier post. I first had to go to the .com site | signed in there and then went to the app before it accepted my sign in through the app. I had to sign in there too. I was confused that day, but thought it was because i had done a clean install of my OS. This was before the EA release about a month and half back.
Far cry: Could it be related to the jump made with the new servers perhaps?

Am I the only one here? Feels strange.
Friend tried to login to bandlab Assistant but was unable. Back end changes?
Now 2 hours he's still waiting for activation!
What's up?
Ahhh! At last! He just texted me that it finally cleared!
Wow! Think the server's a bit overloaded?
How it works myside everytime: I have to sign in through the .com site first before going to the DAW>Help>Sign in.
But lets digress. We need to keep this topic STRICTLY for feedback on the 2023.09 release. Sign in issues are not related to this thread. ?

Cake and Platinum are very different in features and performance. I doubt that comparing them can give a real picture.
Its the same DAW. CbB just being the more improved version. So what you are actually saying here too, is - Ozone 9 and Ozone 11 are two different Vsts?

Cakewalk will play correctly but the graphics vertical play line will hitch and stutter across the timeline.
I too experience this every now and then and i dont even have a graphics card installed. I run on the onboard graphics of an MSI MPG B550 board.

After and forever
I'm pitching this to Spielberg or Michael Bay. ? This sounds like a movie title.
ET: After and Forever ?
Transformers: After and Forever. ? Sounds more like a love story of the robots.
I cant anymore! Oh! My poor stomach! ??
Is this the end for Cakewalk by Bandlab? What new adventures lies ahead for Sonar and Next? Its a love and hate user entanglement! Stay tuned for CbB: The After and Forever movie. ?? Out in cinemas worldwide.
Let me go make some coffee! ?

No antivirus to disable.
This is an issue with Cakewalk and Plugin Alliance/Brainworx. Everything worked prior to the first early access release.
I've had many plugins not showing on a project load due to an antivirus - especially with Microsoft Defender.
All good though, have a great day.

Update: I can also add that bx_meter and bx_stereomaker are two additional Plugin Alliance plugins that will no longer load presets correctly from within Cakewalk. Must have missed testing those the first time around as I don't use them often.
Disable your Antivirus and try again to load the problem.

This version got a timing issue/bug. Im doing 3 beats for a very popular commercial artist in the pop industry.
I have done one beat so far which is finish (well, i need to go and have a look for this issue there too.) Bounce and Crop does not snap accurately to the grid.
PS: Yep confirmed! Its there too. ? I have a deadline on this! ?
I have tried everything in the snap setting. Enabled and Disabled every landmark there - failed attempt. Big Whoop!

This is not a Cakewalk issue it's the ASIO driver and this is normal. I have used probably 6 different interfaces from different companies and they all look like that.
Lol. That means it is a CbB thing. ?
My 1820i shows them as expected in two other daws I own, but shows totally different in CbB. Obviously it is easy to read and understand them if you're an old Cakewalk user. Plus, its easy to rename them in Cakewalk. So, i understand if it would be a little confusing to new members.
I own the 1820i for little over 4 months now.

In correct.
CbB wont remove the DLL memory if your scan settings has been set to manual.

It has never done this before.
I have had this happen multiple times. First make sure your Automatic Save projects is turned off. Secondly: The fix is to redirect your project to the folder.
In your case, its not an error. You have a duplicate project open that wants to resave the same project.

The Studio One contingent at PreSonus was pretty freaked out when it appeared Cakewalk was headed to extinction.
I know why. Because they wouldnt have had another forum to spy on for new ideas and features to steal. ????

, but then what would be the point of bringing an EA for the community to test if not to verify it? developers to fix bugs?
The reason was to fix previous issues/bugs users had in the DAW. This was also to help and give users some time to transition over to the new affordable paid version of Sonar. This new EA are not running on the old servers as what the others have - hence the long wait for this years release.

Pretty crappy update, is unusable, as I open any plugin starts to flickering and slows down my PC. Does anyone know how can I revert to the old version without uninstalling?.
Well, dont expect any update and bug fixes for this version. It is sadly in the process to collect its 401k. An early retirement.

I'm not sure this is a bug or a glitch of some kind, but I just experienced this...
In PRV with the Track View open and a few tracks being displayed.
If I solo a midi track it correctly solos the midi track and the audio track containing the synth being used.
But the solo button in the Track View of the PRV only shows the MIDI track in solo until I allow the mouse to passover the audio track's solo button which then correctly displays the solo status.
In the Regular Track View, All is well... It's only in the PRV display's Track View
Do you have a personal theme?

First of all you guys are overthinking this way too much. Secondly: No one is driving me "bonkers."
1 hour ago, JohnnyV said:Then I froze the SI Bass track and the resulting Mono wave file now plays at -3.7 db. Interesting.
That makes it not an accurate mono insert.
1 hour ago, JohnnyV said:but I think what you are saying is you are inserting an Split Instrument track
Not even close to what I was doing or saying. ??♂️
Okay, John. Do this (which is exactly what i am saying.)
Insert a synth, go to the Track Tab in the TV, Select bounce to Track and Split the Channel Format to "Spilt to Mono." Delete the right track which was created, pan it back to center and do your with plugins too. You will find that no 3db will be added.
That is how synth track should be handled under the hood.
And yes, right now with how it works when toggling the interleave - the mono synth sits within a stereo track that is why the 3dB gets added.
Pitty CbB will be discontinued though. I am looking forward to Sonar and next to test and try out though.

How does Cakewlak/Sonar know it's mono?
A stereo track is essentially two mono tracks/channels that are panned hard Left & Right on one track. So by removing either one of the channels you get a true mono track.
-
1 hour ago, Xoo said:
My examples could easily be from a soft-synth so the same logic applies - throwing away one channel is (potentially) bad.
How is throwing away one channel of a mono synth in a stereo format track bad, when it give the channel a true mono insert? If i wanted a stereo synth, I would use a stereo synth - come on now. ?

Not in studio now. Try switching Ripple All on and see if it fixes your issue.
