  1. I've done many jobs in the past where printing staff was involved. In working with MIDI Cakewalk has been always great (especially with the help of CALs) but I could never print staff with it because it simply didn't deliver and I always had to reach out for the free Musescore. So I imagine how for educational purposes Cakewalk's staff view would quickly fail even with fairly basic tasks.
  2. Sounds good but does it legato?

    IK Mixbox

Right on! And thanks for reminding me about Soundtoys, they are giving me a great upgrade price every year around Black Friday/Xmas so I should start saving now .

Nope. Plugins need just to be at version at least 10, no need to be WUPed. I can load plugins v10 with WUP expired in 2019. "Waves plugins: StudioRack v11 supports Waves v11 and v10 plugins. See our plugin compatibility chart and plugin latency chart" Ouch! I have many v9 and have paid a price to get them, didn't plan to buy them a second time. Why they always make it difficult...?

    That TERC!
  6. Really noble idea but I would be thankful even for something so simple like clicking on a sample in the browser to be able to play it across the keyboard and then just click on another sample while playing back the track to change the sound on the fly. Simple attack/release, sample start/end point and tune. Also stack samples as velocity layers to build a simple drum instrument. Plus audition acidized loops synchronized to project tempo when on a search for 'that one' loop.
  7. And a nice Dimension D which is on my to-buy list. I forgot about sknote because it's sometimes tricky to make his plugins work in Cakewalk. But the one on the movie sounds like a real analog hardware to me. I believe you can fake it in the software but one needs to know what software to use, like I said I know about u-he synths but that's out of my price range and I'm not planning on buying them anytime nearby.
  8. I would have thought so too. I have Synthmaster and I like it but I feel it's giving me a more static sound than what I hear in this video.
  9. Thanks, I'm about the synth bass pulse sound and not about carbon sounds. Like here:
  10. I have a question to you guys. I was listening to this ujam carbon video and there is a pulsating synth sound in the beginning. What instruments are best for making this sound? I've heard about one and it's the Zebra but it's way out of my price range because it's never on a big discount, but maybe something else? I mean, one could use an arpeggiated synth bass sound but there's some liveness to it in this vid that I'm liking.
  11. and I'm actually a keys player used to in-the-box emulation of guitar toys ha ha ha ha
  12. There is one cheap from Plug & Mix bundle, those plugins seem generic but they are all made by different developers and that makes them solid in terms of sound. https://www.plugandmix.com/products/p880-Cool-vibe/
  13. That one seems interesting. Anyone have any experience with it? Can it bridge 32-bit plugins?
  14. You may have to login to your account on ik website to see the crossgrades again.
  15. Was Clavitube offered as a freebie? If so than I missed it! But I think it was only discounted with an intro price not so long ago.

    Where’s Lars

Took me a while to realize that Larry is back?! Glad to see you mate.
  17. I think it's a side effect of creating their own way of installation and authorization method. The whole process apparently had been received as convoluted and in consequence they had to go through a mass support work, that's why now they try to cover as much cases as possible with one installation. For us of course no good. Why not go the proven path as the others do and save themself extra hassle.
  18. I like that, it's a brilliant model and could easily make our standard small/large buffer switching obsolete. Should be a standard.
  19. I see similarity in issues with IK product manager and problem with Bandlab Assistant where it fails with starting the installation process... I think Microsoft showed off again with the latest forced update.
  20. I understand that if someone is making live choir or orchestral sampling that's a huge challenge and there are too many people to pay for their work so the high price tag is fine (although I can't afford these libraries). Where things are ridiculous for me is all the free kontakt libraries that you have to shell out $400 to be able to play them but they won't play in the free kontakt player. And if a developer want's to make it kontakt player compatible then it's not free for him. What a brilliant business model.
  21. Oh yes, thanks for this! I knew there was something very important missing from the editing tools and just needed somebody to bring it up into account again. Such an indispensable tool to have. Quantizing won't help in every condition, sometimes we're solely up to what the DAW has on offer. And yes I confirm CAL is clunky.
  22. Reading this thread I had a question coming instantly to my mind. Is there no way to prevent the DAW from crashing by implementing any sort of defense code that will block any wrong behavior fed back from a plugin? A dialog window saying something like "this operation is not allowed" would be better than a crash. But as I'm not a programmer I know that only people who do write software code could answer it.
  23. Thanks! So this looks more like an issue with the manager rather than the installation process, falls one would like to update manually. And I'm too on 1903, not moving anywhere soon. EDIT: hopefully...
  24. Have not heard or read about that. Where did you know about it? Is it a workaround for the installation process or the way Product Manager is working? Thx
