Hi Promidi - not sure what you mean by trying the 'power cycle'? I did however remove and reinstall the Focusrite driver and that seems to have solved the problem so far.

Currently working on a project. There's 4 instrument audio tracks and another 9 vocal tracks. I only unmute one vocal track at a time as I only eventually want one of them. The project plays fine. Over the last few days i created some vocal tracks (hence why there is 9) with no problem whatsoever. I opened the project today and everything still plays fine until I start to record another audio vocal track. When I play the recording back the vocal track is very quiet and very fuzzy and sounds very transistor radio like from the 60s. The backing music is fine. However the wave form is large and obviously something has been recorded. I havent changed anything on my setup since my last recording session a couple of days ago. I am using a Shure SM58 mic, Focusrite 2i4 2nd Gen AI and its a Dell PC with lots of RAM and storage memory. Has anyone any ideas what may have occurred here (as I say I havent changed anything since my last session)? I have tried unplugging the mic and other cables all to no avail. I even tried a different channel to record through on the audio interface. I also might add I have also tried it with an acoustic guitar plugged in to the same audio interface and the problem is the same. A very strange lofi weak fuzzy sound that is recorded.

Couple of questions. I went to the location suggested but it doesnt seem to allow the files to be cleared. And if it did how would I know it was the right ones? Thanks

Does anyone know why this item was included in the latest CbB update and is it necessary or can it be removed? Thanks

Thanks all. I downloaded the latest version and am activated once again. One thing though . The song I just listened to which is all audio tracks has some distinct crackles in he background which I know were not there in the previous version of cakewalk. Does this ring any bells (or crackles as the case may be ? ) with anyone.

Yes I just tried that and am not sure if am logged in or not. I opened the desktop app (Bandlab Assistant) and I clicked on Cakewalk then 'refresh activation' but nothing happened. It does say a new version is available though. Do I need to download the latest version or should i be able to activate without it? Secondly -if i download the new version will that wipe out all my settings and other stuff I have attributed to Cakewalk? Thanks
-
In relation to having to refresh activation I cant find anywhere in Bandlab to do this. I log in to Bandlab easily but there is no glaring button screaming at me to activate cakewalk. So I try to login to bandlab through cakewalk and it does not recognise my login details. Any issues I should be aware of?

Just noticed a similar topic.

Just noticed a similar topic. Will post in that one.

Totally agree ?

That's the key issue - recording and monitoring at the same time; is there a noticeable time difference between the 2 sounds i.e. the sound going in and the one being monitored?

Thank you to the above. The mixer in question is the Zed 10FX. It has a stereo USB out for recording purposes which the manufacturer states makes it ideal for use as an AI. It is a great piece of kit as a mixer and I wouldnt be recording more than 2 channels at a time with it so wondered if there were likely to be any issues with it, i.e. latency.

Are any Cake users using one of the above (via USB) as an Audio Interface in CbB and if so have you had any problems or experiences you might be able to share? I currently use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (2nd gen) but would be interested to know how a 'decent' mixer would cope with the same demands. Thank you

Just out of curiosity what do you mean by 'focus'?
