I thought it started off quite well. Quite often these days I find my attention starts to wander by around about track 5 on many albums. In this case the magic track 5 (Chairs) is forking dreadful though and I never even made it to the end of that one. I'll go back to the rest when I have more time, but seriously......what was he thinking there ? I've got projects on my HD that I would be far too embarrassed to let anyone at all hear that are better than that.* I didn't realise he had been quite so productive since they split. Depending on how the second half of the album goes I might check out some of the other stuff. * Note to self......remember to delete them before I die. Second note to self... who are you kidding ? Nobody wants to listen when you're alive....who do you think is going to listen when you're dead ?

And there was me trying not to trash the thread by saying that it doesn't really count if they're equally bad....

I guess it's a bit of no win situation with me TBH. If they sound okay but a little different then to me they've basically just become a tribute band of themselves (Queen) . I will listen to the album properly, but the quick scan I did earlier of a few tracks hasn't really changed my mind. I'm not saying they're not worthy songs, just that I'd rather have seen him say...here's my new band... Of course, then I'd be saying that it doesn't really sound much different to the last one !?

I saw that this was out at the back end of last year and I passed on listening to it at the time because generally I don't think it works when a band replaces the vocalist as they are such a big part of the sound/image. I've always thought it better to just start a new band. Generally I think you can get away with slotting in a new musician somewhere, or even a bass player ( ? ) but although they may not actually be the one behind all the songs they are the band in many ways. Mention Roxette to almost anyone and who springs to mind.....the pretty blonde with the spiky hair and great voice or the slightly awkward looking bloke next to her holding the guitar? Some probably even spent quite a long time thinking of her even when nobody had mentioned Roxette, but that's another story. All that said, I am a sucker for a good pop song, so perhaps I should put my usual opinion aside and give it a listen. I can always pretend that it's a new band as long as someone hasn't shouted Roxette half way through any of them, which I recall being very irritating to me back in the day on whatever song it was.

How about the option of paying a one-time fee over and above the price of the software for lifetime updates... ... luckily, I never took my coat off. I'll see myself out.

I get that and I really don't care one way or the other. I'm not one of those people. It just struck me how odd/funny it would presumably sound to those that are of that mindset. Try reading it to yourself while shouting the capitalised words and you'll see what I mean. It's no wonder those types are so delicate and confused if their world is really like that. ?

I've just made an amazing discovery..... I started making it when this thread was first posted, but I didn't fully make it until just now....... and it's truly mind-blowing! Three times previously I started listening to the track and every time had the same initial thoughts...hmm this might well be better than I expected. I like the way it starts, I like the sound palette....... but every time I found myself distracted by the most trivial of things and never made it through the whole track. Today, I tried again and before long I was thinking that the OP must sound really strange in the minds of those people who think that typed capital letters is equal to shouting. Anyway, I soon moved on to contemplating why the fluff I occasionally find in my navel is always blue even though I don't really wear much blue clothing and then it dawned on me that this must be what is like for people listening to my stuff because that same inability to pay attention for the whole track....... that's exactly what happens to every person every time I play someone one of my tracks. This clearly only means one thing........ I am equal to Peter Gabriel. I know, right ? Mind Blown.

I went round to his house once. It was not to far from where I lived at the time and he had said in local media that he just wanted to be treated like a regular local guy and that people should feel free to pop round and have a chat etc.... so I did. He was either out or pretending to be out or maybe busy making a noise out back and couldn't hear the doorbell. The movie rights are still available if anyone is interested.

Also, AFAIK they didn't shut down some customer's accounts just because they happen live in a country that it has become fashionable to dislike.
