Acoustic samples VST UI issues......(Solved - Kind of)
paulo replied to paulo's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
First off, I was asking not complaining. I don't have the bandlab version installed and personally speaking have yet to see a compelling reason to switch plus there are a couple of things that put me off going with it, which I won't go into now because that isn't what the thread is about. -
The first I ever heard of the name Cakewalk in terms of music production was some version that came on an Aerosmith cd that you could load onto your pc (win 98 or XP IIRC) so that you could "remix" the lead track. Can't remember which track it was now and can't find the disc.

I have four (GD6, Strategy, Sunbird and Telematic). All four work fine in standalone mode, but in vst mode within Platinum (final version) the part of the display that displays chord info doesn't work and neither does the plectrum position indicator (which I don't really care about). All four also work as expected in VST mode in Studio One 3 which points to Platinum being the problem here. Just me or a known issue? win 7 x64 if it matters.

Yeah no need to do anything that drastic. Just take it's teeth out.

Cool kids won't care what you do.

If anybody decides to go for this be warned that the d/l process is a PITA. Keeps crashing and then throwing me out of my log-in after each one finally completes and then when I try to log in again it tells me that the account doesn't exist the first two times I try to sign back in but accepts it the third time and then I get to start over again. Not feeling the love right now.........

I've seen a few say that, but I have no idea why it matters - they don't work without it.

Take a leaf out of the apple marketing guide book and sell it to some sucker for far more than it's actually worth because it's cooler to say that you have a mac.

I use Bitflipperworks. Does the same job.

The only "decent" ones I've ever had are Beyerdynamic DT770's and Audio Technica ATH-M50's. I prefer the M50's for both sound and comfort.

Not according to the mods (sometimes) which I suspect might be the point that my fellow countryman is trying to make. Either that or the Mrs has been on his case all day and he's just looking for an argument he has a chance of winning.?
-
Did anybody get this bundle? Since musiclab stole my Realguitar/Realstrat licences I've been on the lookout for reasonably priced replacements and it I'm thinking that this could be them, but as there is no demo can anybody say how they compare?

If you are using the melodyne v4.2 or above then my money is that the problem is melodyne. Once I installed a 4.1 version the problems went away.
-
Not free for me either, but a pretty good deal for v2 owners.
-
IMO free is the best deal.
-
It's free for v2 owners innit?

Thanks for the reminder. I'd forgotten all about this and now I'm annoyed all over again that they won't allow me upgrade pricing on the physical drive version.☹️

I think Sharke fell in love with another DAW and she lured him away. Last I ever saw of him he was singing the praises of Bitwig. Poor chap had clearly lost his mind. Beepster is probably still waiting for the old forum closure announcement thread to load on his hamster wheel powered laptop. Or maybe the hamster fell of the wheel and injured itself.

Ripple editing can cause unexpected results ...

I've only used it twice in projects that consisted mostly of frozen instrument tracks with a few regular audio tracks. First time it seemed to have worked ok until I had cause to unfreeze some of the frozen synths when it soon became apparent that while the frozen audio had moved the underlying midi had not. The second time I tried it also moved the midi, so in my very limited experience so far it's a 50% success rate. Maybe some kind of pilot error first time out, but not sure how it could be. I figured that select all would do exactly that, but it one case it didn't. Both in last version of Platinum btw, can't speak for the bandlab version. -
To answer my own question (in case anyone else is wondering about it) following a very lengthy d/l (wtf?) I can confirm that UVI v.3 does in fact work in win7 as standalone and I also experienced no problems with it as a vst within Platinum - can't say for the bandlab version because I don't have that installed.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking, but the real question is........ Does it smell like a drummer?
-
Another question re UVI .........AS product blurb states that it requires UVI v3 and and works in "wIndows 7 or later" however UVI specs for version 3 states windows 8/10 only, so which is it? As has been mentioned above, I do vaguely recall having insttalled UVI a while back and it being problematic, but I can't recall what the problem was.I tried to d/l UVI v3 to try it again but the d/l is reaaallllllyyyy slllooooooooowwww at the moment - I gave up when it said 8hrs remaining.?

It isn't always.....

Is it... you know...
