  1. Believe it or not, but XLN Audio has released the first AD2 Expansion since, well, I think, the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. It has appropriately been named Vintage Dead.

A beat-making powerhouse for any style

Equally perfect for beats and breaks, psychedelic indie pop in the vein of Tame Impala, Khruangbin, and Glass Beams, or hard-hitting rock like Queens of the Stone Age, and Death from Above 1979, Vintage Dead packs the punch you need. Make your tracks slap with mix-ready, tweakable presets created by the scene’s best, and beats performed by amazing drummers and beatmakers.

Additionally, this was my post number 1K.

Unable to embed a bandlab player on here for some reason?

There used to be a button in the post toolbar called "Embed BandLab Post". After clicking, you simply pasted the URL to your song and the player with the song was embedded into the post. Apparently, not so anymore. Pretty strange.

    Maybe try SoundCloud instead.

  3. To me the GUI looks somewhat similar to NI Massive X, but with a brownish tint. Although I liked the old GUI, I can get used to this. It’s modern, but without the boring, uninspiring flat look so many plugins seem to strive for these days.

I’d guess Addictive Keys will be the next surprise coming from XLN Audio. However, the current version is 1.7.1, so I’m not sure if a GUI update by itself will qualify for a version number of 2.0.

  5. At least on my laptop, where space is of great concern, I will simply skip some of the things I got with MPS 6.5. All reverbs will stay seated in my iZotope and/or iLok account, and I don’t intend to install the NI Effects Collection (duplicates) or anything from Brainworx (mostly duplicates). After having updated Neutron, Ozone, Nectar, and RX11, I think I lost around 11GB.

The jury is still out when it comes to Guitar Rig 7 Pro, but if I first uninstall Guitar Rig 5, I doubt that would cause a space problem.

Is this something that applies to everyone here?  Just asking because I haven't seen anything of mine that needed approval after I posted it; it just showed up wherever I posted?   (unless we can always see our own posts even if they're not really "there" yet?)

I’ve been in this forum since the day it started and it has never happened to me. I guess it has some connection to what you write. Pay attention to the few, simple rules there are, and you’ll probably never experience it.

Hi, I'm interested in buying the updated Z3TA+ 2 vst synth from Cakewalk and wanted to download a trial version.

As far as I know, Z3TA+ 2 hasn’t been available for purchase since 2017. As for Cakewalk Command Center, it's used to download software from the legacy Cakewalk site that was bought before Gibson left the building.

  8. Walk out of your comfort zone. Do something in a musical style you’d normally never consider.

Also, specifically for plugin hoarders, create at least one song based on each sound library or synth expansion pack you’ve ever bought, before you allow yourself to buy yet another one. That might boost not only motivation, but also inspiration.

I just cleaned up my theme folder of unwanted/unused themes.  Then I renamed several.  After a system reboot CbB still lists all the old names in Preferences.   Not sure which is which now.  Since Theme Editor is no longer updated is there a way to fix this on my end?

Theme Editor itself sees the new names as expected.

It’s not clear if you by Rename mean that you have changed the theme's file name using File Explorer. If so, the file name is not what’s displayed in Preferences. You’ll have to load each theme you’d want to rename into Theme Editor and then select Save As to rename the theme. That will create a copy of the file with the new file name and also update a string located inside the theme sth file. It’s the latter that determines the name being displayed in Preferences.

  10. Installed.

When Kontakt GUI Maker was released earlier this year the price was $59.99, and I said that I'd wait until the price was $4.99. Never thought it would happen this quickly, though. Also, getting Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder Nano included for free doesn't hurt either.

My initial plan is to see if I can make the extremely boring GUIs of SampleTekk's Kontakt libraries a bit more exciting. I have no idea if it will be possible to update an existing third party Kontakt library, but for roughly €5 I'll take my chances.
