  1. Missing the old Cake vibe... including all the conspiracy theories...
  2. But I paid for lifetime updates!
  3. How long is Cakewalk going to be free?
  4. It's still right here, where it always was: https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk
  5. The black and white keys on the MPK should play MIDI notes by default in your virtual instrument plugin, if you have selected the MPK as the MIDI input for that respective virtual instrument track, and enabled MIDI echo "on" for that track. The joystick should also be plug and play for MIDI pitch bend and modulation. For control surface functions the controller knobs will need be mapped by setting up a control surface in Cakewalk, or by using a MIDI learn function for MIDI CC controllers from within each plugin. Not sure about the pads, they might be configurable to send MIDI notes or MIDI CC controllers. You can use the MPK editor software to assign a MIDI message to each pad, based on the plugin you plan to trigger with them.
  6. Happy now fleer? He "thaid" the word...
  7. Long file names can give some unzippers problems. I have had very good luck with 7Zip in that regard.
  8. A Comparison of MuseScore 2, Notion 6 , Finale v25 and Sibelius 8 https://musescore.org/en/node/138301
  9. Well since you already own Omnisphere and Falcon, you should cut your credit cards up immediately. You don't need anything else! LOL!!!
  10. Maybe a good place for "Software" and "Hardware" discussions would be as sub-forums under "Coffee House v2.0", like they did with "Deals". That would be better than random threads on those specific topics popping up at large in the main "Coffee House", and then getting buried.
  11. It's definitely worth the asking price, unless you already have too many synths... I like the new Richard Devine presets. I think they explore the synth's capabilities better than the original factory presets. I place synth up there with the other great underrated synths out there. It has some unique sonic characteristics, and deep programmability. Wolfram Franke, the Biotek developer, is a veteran programmer formerly with Waldorf Music.
  12. The latest, free version of Cakewalk includes the Sonitus plugins. You can install this side by side with your current version to try it out. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Plug-ins.1.html Any plugins installed by the latest Cakewalk should then be available to Home Studio, and vice versa. Cakewalk by BandLab will not replace Home Studio, but is a more feature rich, much more up to date version of Sonar, including all of the core functionality of the last Sonar Platinum version. Plus it is currently supported and updated by the BandLab team.
  13. Did you simply ask for a password reset, or did you ask for asset transfers?
  14. Another cool thing about Rapture Session, is that it will import the preset libraries from Dimension Pro and Rapture Classic if you already have them installed. That makes for a super preset browser!
  15. There are probably a few threads over on the archived forum that discussed this issue. I seem to recall a mention that the Cakewalk Staff View was too deeply integrated in the code to make it an easy upgrade. They were afraid it would break something else if they attempted a quick fix for the Staff View. The obvious things could be involved are the integration with all of the MIDI features in the Piano Roll View, track view, event list, etc. But I suspect that it runs even deeper than that...
  16. V2 has a new browser (much improved), granular oscillator, new filters, and 100 new Richard Devine presets. Overall it's a good refinement of the original. From SoundBytes: Review – BioTek 2 by Tracktion
  17. Did you try this request form? Submit a request https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633
  18. Have you talked with a Sweetwater sales rep yet to see if they can find anything like a true 12 channel rack mixer for you?
  19. I don't recall BandLab ever saying when your old Cakewalk assets would be transferred. You bought the legacy products from Cakewalk, Cakewalk/Gibson, or Cakewalk/Roland, etc., and that company no longer exists. And those products are no longer being officially supported. I have thought about this a bit, because I have purchased and registered products with Cakewalk going back about 20 years. My interpretation of the signup with the same email address is that BandLab might eventually offer existing customers an upgrade price for any Cakewalk addons or instruments that BandLab may choose to release in the future.
  20. For $50, this should do the job: Behringer Xenyx 502 Premium 5-Input 2-Bus Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamp and British EQ
