  1. I have a full copy of Adobe Photoshop that is almost 20 years old. I also have the last version of Adobe Lightroom that was sold with a perpetual license. I have never subscribed to the Adobe Creative Cloud thingy. Although I suppose that if I was a professional graphic designer I might consider doing so. But even if I did, then I would always feel a weird unease that if I ever stopped subscribing I would lose all access to my software and the ability to edit my creative works. So that's a non-starter for me!
  2. Yes, that is true. Even the Studio One Artist version that is bundled with some hardware will not allow 3rd party VST support. But there is an add-on package available for purchase to add 3rd party plugin support to Artist, for $79.99. https://shop.presonus.com/studio-one-add-ons/Software-Category--VST-Support https://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-One/compare-versions
  3. Nope! Still all good here, and Kompletely free!!!
  4. Just download the free NI Komplete Start, and you will get the new Blocks Base and also the instruments included for Reaktor Player 6: Mikro Prism, Lazerbass, & Carbon 2, plus more instruments as available presets for Komplete Kontrol (also included for free) and Kontakt 6 Player! Your Reaktor Blocks Wired will still be available in your Native Access account. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-start/included-products/
  5. The best way to get along is for everyone to come together.
  6. USB is a shared bandwidth bus. It would be recommended to plug high bandwidth USB devices directly into a dedicated USB port on the computer. Hubs should be fine for low speed peripherals and controllers. Some folks my have good luck with hubs, but if there are any issues, that is one of the first things that should be ruled out. https://smallbusiness.chron.com/difference-between-shared-independent-usb-ports-64634.html
  7. That's where AAF import/export would be a nice feature to have! What is the difference between the OMF and AAF formats? Why do I want to use one vs. the other? http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/FAQ/en331113
  8. The Sound Library Update 1.3 was the last one released in March. So this isn't a new one.
  9. I wasn't complaining. I actually PREFER the slower pace of releases. I hope they keep it up. I would rather that they get released when they are fully baked.
  10. Unsubstantiated opinions without facts and references always tickle me!
  11. It seems to me that Cakewalk development has stepped into the slower lane. I am showing my installed version as current at 2019-03, and it is already May. So that was only the 2nd one this year, following 2019.01. Cakewalk by BandLab Release Notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aFOe_zJrd3x2EnaZ_Jc3iSbZPG2WANiCD4_RP83OjlA/edit
  12. My last comment was made post edit, regarding said edit. It'a translation to Norwegian.
  13. I guess only Norwegians would be offended...
  14. I'm still waiting for them to give me a compelling reason to upgrade from Acid 6.
  15. That's a novel approach to a credit card rewards program! ?
  16. Right. Maybe you should actually read that lawsuit info for yourself, Mr Google Expert. "Update on 8/17/17: Here’s a statement provided to PetaPixel by B&H, which emphasizes that this was a “consent decree” settlement that did not result from any finding or admission of guilt" https://petapixel.com/2017/08/16/bh-pay-3-22m-settle-lawsuit-filed-dept-labor/
  17. I'm sorry, but I'm going with the "hacked" theory. ? I have done business over many years with B&H, and this just doesn't sound like them, or something that they would attempt to do. They are a legit, up and up, outstanding company!
  18. No apologies needed, it's all good! I use several DAWs, and even have Reaper installed. Although it's far from my favorite, I'm always interested in learning more about it. But for DAW comparisons, I usually head over to the KVR forum for those fun and games! ?
  19. Soon it will be $15 at Humble Bundle ...
  20. Not really, since you cannot record directly into matrix. But It is useful for playing back clips in a "non-linear" fashion. Mainly for arranging. And to your earlier question, I don't think a lot of people use it, even though ts has a lot of potential. I think that for those who mainly need the non-linear workflow, Ableton Live is king of the hill.

    Converting MIDI to MP3

Suggest starting here: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/35-tutorials/ Be sure not to miss this one! It may appear to start out rather simplistic, but bear with it as some important concepts are introduced. This is a good set of videos created for Sonar, and still applies to Cakewalk by Bandlab. Chapter 19 "MIDI Synths" covers inserting TTS-1 and routing MIDI data to it.
  22. Reaper has nothing to do with this topic, which has apparently drifted way off course... ?
  23. Wow! "Designed for Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP". That takes me back! ? I used to have that disk...
