  1. Agree that it's probably Cakewalk only. I set it to 96Khz and it started glitching on me when I brought it down to 64 samples. But OK at 128, 256, & 512 though. Maybe something in the way Cakewalk handles ASIO buffering. Maybe something different happens with the buffer when using something like a jBridge wrapper with the plugin in Cakewalk?
  2. That is interesting. I heard some glitching in Cakewalk with my audio buffes set to 64 samples. Bumped it all the way up to 256 and the glitching stopped. Was running at 48000. So I tried it in Studio One and was able to get it all the way down to 16 samples audio buffers without glitching. Using Scarlett 4i4 3rd gen at 48000/24.
  3. Somebody should probably sticky that comment! This is not the first time. ?
  4. "please write exact name of this drive. Model. Letters, figures. I want to read about this drive." WD 1TB Elements Portable Storage USB 3.0 Model WDBUZG0010BBK-WESN Black https://www.newegg.com/model-wdbuzg0010bbk-wesn-1tb/p/1E8-0006-00100 I use this together with Macrium Reflect 7 Free to make full backup images of my internal disks. I define a separate Macrium job for each disk. https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
  5. It has a Tango Accordion. I'm not a good judge of what they should sound like, LOL, but it's in there. Also Dulcimer, Harmonium, Banjo, Recorder, Sitar, Panpipes, Harmonica, Bottle blow, and many others among the 58 instruments listed in the "Ethnic" category.
  6. OK. I understand. Just wondering because I have an old hardware rack Roland JV-1080 with a decent GM sound set that I haven't turned on in years. Do you have the AIR Xpand!2 that was on sale for $1 a few years ago? 2500+ presets of mostly bread and butter sounds. I think it blows my old Roland and TTS-1 away. It's not GM, but has a good pallet of sounds, and is 4-part multitimbral. This used to be a part of Avid Pro Tools collection. Currently $14.99 at Plugin Boutique: https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/64-Virtual-Instrument/1560-Xpand-2
  7. Just curious, but do you really need GM?
  8. Set the input to the drum kit to 'None'. That will set Omni input for the instrument, so if you are using a virtual controller or any other, it will route the MIDI correctly.
  9. Probably same as always... Cakewalk is the last to be tested, if at all.
  10. VG-Carbon is the exception for the guitars at 1.0.1. I have it and it does have the finisher and instrument mode. Different from VG-Sparkle at 1.0.0 in many ways, which I also have.
  11. $34.98 at AudioDeluxe with code "FALL2020" https://www.audiodeluxe.com/
  12. The lower range of the keyboard is dedicated to key switches for style and and patterns etc. Move up an octave or two... For example with Sparkle, C4 and higher play the chords...
  13. @Konskoo Recommended video to watch if it is your first time setting up Cakewalk:

  15. I understand that you have different questions. ? I would recommend new topics for each of your different questions. You will get higher quality answers if you limit each thread to a single topic. There are probably other more qualified community members than me to answer those questions, and they are not likely to read a many pages long thread covering multiple topics to find one that they might be able to answer. I'm saying that many members just glance at the headlines, and then move along until they find something of interest. That's just the way the internet works!
  16. I have not used NVMe, so I'm not qualified to make recommendation on that. How much disk space you will actually need is entirely dependent on how much audio recording space you will use. Only you can determine that. Your audio tracks in the Cakewalk projects will be WAV files. You could export audio from the Cakewalk project after you have finished recording and mixing as file type: AIFF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA. Also you could export from Cakewalk as WAV for additional mastering step, then export that master in one of the compressed formats for online media sharing. So save your project (with the WAV files included), save your exported master WAV, and save your FLAC or MP3 file for media share. Your online media host should have FAQ regarding the best format to upload. Add it all up and multiply by the number of projects you intend to have. You could archive (move) your oldest works onto an external drive to make more room for new active projects. Here is a calculator: https://www.colincrawley.com/audio-file-size-calculator/
  17. Agreed! ...trying the demo... ? Wondering if JRR is trustworthy yet?
  18. I'm not Wupping next year. Probably not buying any mores Waves either... Got everything I need now. ?
  19. AAS store has it as US$39.00
  20. FYI - Some Waves v12 plug-ins are without the new preset browser, but it does not appear to be widespread. It apparently isn't a bug, but rather by design according to Waves support.
  21. Interesting! But why no mention of it on the AAS home page?
  22. Got the full list of v12 plug-ins without the new preset browser, evidently due to unspecified technical reasons. From Waves:
  23. I got this response from Waves support today. ?
  24. 1. On which drive you install VST? Since VST are actually small .dll files, I leave them in folders on the "C:" drive. My VST2 plug-ins go into a sub-folders in Program files like this one "C:\Program Files\VstPlugIns and this one "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins". Whatever paths you choose need to be added to the Cakewalk VST scan path. VST3 have a standard sub-folder in Common Files "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3". Cakewalk searches this VST3 path by default. 2. samples - it is VST? VST plug-in installers can install additional content, including sample libraries, anywhere they like and it's up to the developer to let you choose the specific location at install time. Given the choice, I prefer to place all applications and plug-ins on my system drive, and all the extras on my secondary drive. 3. What is the difference between Projects and content? Projects are the DAW project files that you save which contain the MIDI and audio that you recorded in the project, as well as all project and VST settings used. In the Cakewalk DAW these are known as ".cwp" files. This area will grow as you add more projects. Content is any extra samples, loops, one shots, MIDI patterns, etc., supplied by Cakewalk or any other 3rd party program or VST that you install. The VST should remember where this location is, otherwise you will get an error when the plug-in loads at run time. This content can grow substantially over time, so it is best to install it on your secondary drive, to avoid outgrowing the system drive. Image backups of the system drive do not need to use up the extra space to store this relatively static content. So regularly backup your system drive, and your project folders. But you should only need to backup the content occasionally as it rarely changes, and is typically used as read-only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. What for you wanted dedicated GPU? I don't actually need one, as the CPU integrated Intel UHD graphics works perfectly well, but the developer for one of my synths has plans to add NVIDIA CUDA processing to accelerate the oscillators. CUDA is a unique parallel computing architecture developed by NVIDIA. The technology allows to significantly increase the computing power using GPU. But it only benefits a program written to take advantage of the feature. So it's not just for pretty graphics! ? https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-zone
