It is the preferred DAW of MIDI Composers, due to its
    extensive MIDI capabilities.

That was the leading capability of Cubase, Logic, and Cakewalk for years. Among the original MIDI sequencers...

  2. I think I may be about ready to pull the trigger on Minimonsta 2. But not because it is a "better" authentic reproduction of the original Minimoog.

But because it sounds great as a new synth! Gforce did a great job with version 2. It seems to be an "extended" version of the Minimoog, that offers many features that the original did not have.

When I originally compared the Minimonsta v1 against the other leading Mini replicas, I settled on Cherry Audio MIniverse, because for the cost it was a very good emulation of the original, that added polyphony, as well as a fully scalable UI. I also have the Arturia Mini V, which seems to be far behind most other Mini emulations, especially regarding the filter. I tried replicating Cherry Audio Miniverse presets with the Minimonsta v2, and they all sounded very similar. But the "extended" factory sounds in Minimonsta v2 are beyond the original. Good stuff!

  3. I don't have the Ample guitar, but I have a couple of Ample basses. They have a "riffer" module with factory riffs, and that can play tabs or import MIDI, and export tabs and riffs MIDI via drag and drop to a DAW track.

I have never observed the Ample basses being off-beat, but this post inspired me to investigate... I listened to a few Ample riffs with my CbB metronome switched on for playback and things seemed to be in sync.

In the video example provided in the OP, the delay compensation is related to the ADSR envelope of the sample being played by the Ample instrument. I looked through my Ample bass presets and noticed that they had variable sample delays (case by case) that seemed to average about 35 ms. Some presets had none, so if you are going to delay the DAW track by a fixed amount, you may need to check if any delay is already present in the Ample preset.

The MIDI dragged into the DAW track would be independent of any envelope settings in the instrument itself, as it would just be a timing issue if the instrument was playing the "attack" for the sample early or late.

Just curious - is this e-Mu library for Kontakt - the same that was available for Dimension LE? -

Likely the same or similar samples, just packaged in a different sampler file format for Kontakt. Dimension uses the SFZ (.sfz) file format, where Kontakt uses a Native Instruments proprietary file format.

  5. Here's a PCI-E Firewire card with a TI chipset that I bought years ago when I swapped over to a new motherboard without Firewire support. They are apparently still making them and they are $35. Worked great with my M-Audio FW410 audio interface while running it on Windows 7, and even after upgrading to Windows 10.

Sold out at Mashable. Nothing to see here... ?

The deal is also sold out at StackCommerce: https://stacksocial.com/sales/microsoft-office-pro-plus-2021-for-windows-lifetime-license-email-only

I grabbed it at the ghacks.net deal offered via their flash sale email today (another StackCommerce affiliate) at the last minute, but they are also sold out now...

This deal was for MS Office 2021 Professional Plus: Only available through volume licensing channels; includes core applications plus Outlook, Publisher, Access and Skype for Business. The MS product key provided activated just fine in my Microsoft account. :)

  7. Suggestion: Somebody should compile the feature requests here and make a post over in the "Feedback Loop" forum where it will more likely be seen by the developers. This here is a Q&A forum about instruments and effects, and not likely to make it to the their attention...

    https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/8-feedback-loop/

"Provide feedback on features, ideas and requests for future releases of Cakewalk by BandLab"

Here's the current list of PRV related feature requests over there... https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/search/&q=prv&type=forums_topic&nodes=8&updated_after=any&sortby=newest

Thank you so much for your useful advice, I do it, too! However, sometimes I need to see name of notes on scale of piano roll keyboard in whole! Because of I edit some of midi of notes and click to select on some of note with my mouse I need to see exact place anyway where I'll be drag and drop at to editing! I think this add feature will be very comfortable  in interface of Cakewalk for some users. Also I would be to offer to enabled the good feature as to colorful name of notes if user would like to see that? Of course these options should not be enabled by default. For example, there is variant of pianoroll in some DAW!

    Notes.png

If I'm not mistaken, that appears to be a shot of the piano roll from FL Studio. I tried a demo of that DAW a few years ago, and I must say it has one of the best PRV's I've seen anywhere. Good example!

But sadly, that was the only appealing thing about FL for me... ;)

Just my 2 synth  , but since they done their modular thing , i just see different architecture presets with gui's .... not real modeling imho .... (based on raw oscillator and filters)

I'm sure that Cherry Audio leverages the common DSP code that they have already created, as it applies to solve a needed function (as do all developers).

But Dan Goldstein, their lead developer based in Las Vegas, also owns the largest hardware synth collection in Nevada. The team is able to study and compare each synth's operation in detail as they attempt to emulate it.  They painstakingly attempt to model the functions of the real deal, as much as possible. I think that they are improving their process with each iteration as they learn what works best.

I don't buy that Cherry Audio is just repackaging the same modules with a different GUI. That is just an unfounded claim that some internet critics use to justify the opinion that there's otherwise no way that Cherry Audio could release so many synth emulations in such a short time frame.

Here's an interview with Dan, regarding his synth collection and the recent release of the Cherry Audio Elka-X (Synthex).

I really feel for the BlueARP dev. Here's his blog post on BlueARP DM. I hope he is able to continue development and build a successful sales channel.

Yes, unfortunately the developer is caught up in the middle of current international political and economic sanctions, so there's not really much he can do about the supply chain, manufacturing, and sales at present.

But the BlueArp plugin version downloads are available here: https://omg-instruments.com/wp/?page_id=46

The developer, aka "graywolf2004", started this thread at KVR 10 years ago: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=361311&hilit=bluearp
