Excellent questions. 1. Several ways. You can set Jamstix to play the midi file from a channel you assign to it. On the top left you will see 'Midi Playback' use that to play any midi file you have. You can also import the midi file, and this is when it gets really interesting and fun. Go to Groove and click that. Then select Special Styles/Import and read the description. This is how you can use a midi file that you create (or pre-made like Groove Monkee) to create a style that you want. 2. If you write the part in Jamstix, you can save it as a new style!! And get any number of different drummers to try it and see what they come up with. Yes, it's that powerful. Or like I said previously that you can import a midi trk and save it as a new style. I don't think I have used more than 8 bars for a new style. And as little as one bar. Just depends on what your going for. Beauty of the program is you can have more than one style or drummer in a song. Yep, it's that powerful!! 3. Here is the fantastic part: Once you got the style you want, you go to the song section tell Jamstix to put an intro in, then a verse, then a pre chorus, then a chorus and let it come up with the parts on it's own! Just like you explain to a real drummer how you want a song played, then you turn him loose. Then you can select to add some swing to certain parts of the song, or the whole song. Select different power levels for each part of the song (and this affects how the drummer plays the part). This thing gets really deep. I'll just leave it there. Will there be some fine tuning? Of course. But what you can come up with is only limited by your own input. You will have to spend time with it and the manual. I am still going back in the manual and learning. For certain songs I found that Jamstix did a better job than any of the programs I have. It was all about the feel. It's got feel. Good feel. You just have to learn how to use it. No way around that. Your time will be well rewarded. And it's sounds are very usable. They benefit from external processing for certain. But they do have a very natural sound to them. I believe he doesn't ask enough money for what this program can do. At this price it is a no-brainer. Mark, thanks for the link to the videos. I will give them a watch. I also use AD to go along with or instead of the Jamstix sounds. I find it works best with AD, and not EZD.

That was a surge in electrical puns! Quite shocking.

You doing a fine job! Keep it up! : )

What brand is it? I missed that part. [edit] I watched the video. nice. Looks great too. You should be happy. Lets us know when you get it.

Bill, I have seen some incredible players that could read anything you put in front of them. Couldn't come up with an original tune on their own. Seen great players in bars that amazed me in their command of the instrument, and after 30 minutes of listening to them my wife would turn to me and say, "I'm ready to leave." They couldn't entertain her. (most of the people in the bars were musicians!) I could never figure it out. Other than the reason I keep playing and have devoted a very large chunk of my life to it is I love it. I really do. So it's my personal enjoyment that matters in the end of it. Not what others think of me.

I'll give a listen when I get home. Though I am a lot like JohnG and that my age and hearing are both used up. JohnG you worked on the Concords? I was really enjoying the conversation that Gswitz was having with himself in the first part of this thread!!

And don't want to admit it.
-
And of course, CbB says it's something on Melodyne's side.

This is what I am not understanding. Your DAW should have nothing to do with the noise. Only if it's present on the inputs. So with just the Active monitors plugged in to the electrical wall socket, and not to the audio interface, they still make noise?

I used my voucher to get the DSM V2 and the Maag Magnum K earlier this month.

Thought I was gonna catch you again!! : )

Gotta be. I suffer from it too!!

I don't know about that. It may break your heart, but you were caught!! Put in the baot, brought home and fired!! : )

Good looking stuff Jack.

I have a i7 2600K and I may not get to 30 takes per trk, but I have gone to 20 on a trk. And also had at least 10-15 more on several other trks. So in total I have had at times 50-60+ takes on a project. And I can comp like this with no problem. (Well other than Jamstix getting out of sync occasionally. EZD, EZKeys, Session Drummer do not exhibit this out of sync issue) So not sure it's a CbB issue.

Hint, Single Coil pickups will pick up electronic noise like a magnet! When at a right angle to electronic source, it will not pick it up as bad, but it's still there. Now synkrotron have you tried to unplug the cables from your audio interface to your speakers and listened to see if the sound is still there. If it is, then it's the speakers themselves. Although I am doubting this to be the case (I mean I can't see both speakers generating the noise, but you never know). It's worth a check. If you try the above and don't get the sound, hook the cables back up to audio interface and unplug everything else from the audio interface. Still hear it? Then I would look at the audio interface. If it is the audio interface, I would suggeswt getting a ground lift plug adapter to try and see if using it will eliminate the noise. The things I am suggesting are efforts to the find noise source. Once you have the source, you can figure out the solution.

Because of the problems reported on the old forum about the new version of Melodyne, I have stayed on v4.1 and it's working as expected in CbB.

I got one in the boat!

Serious vulnerability in Windows 7 / Google Chrome

Yes. Very much. I have been back on FF for at least a few months now and really like it over Chrome. -
Such a cross to bare!
-
Thanks abacab, That's what I did. Went in to FF and started looking about and found the new settings I didn't know existed in FF. Have been using chrome until about a month ago.

I am using FireFox on a Surface Pro going through my cell phone hotspot. I also see another discussion on the main forum about it. I posted this thread before I went to the main forum. Mostly because I started getting ads as I was viewing posts.

Solved (thanks!!) Can i buy an ad free forum experience?

You too!!! I still have my Lumia 950XL. But I went ahead and ordered a Galaxy S10 for me and the wife. Her's has shipped and will be here in few days. Mine may take a day or two longer. Back to topic: I am on my Surface that uses a cell phone hotspot and I see ads. I see them everywhere. And they scare me. (I hate ** ads) -
Now seeing ads at the top of the thread too. In ribbon fashion.

I am using latest FF. Am seeing ads that are blocking posts. Anyone else seeing this? And is this really how this place is going to go? I mean, come on!!
