So will all the EzBass expansions be based on 5 string basses?  That doesn't seem very "classic rock" to me.

Agreed. I wish there were a way to limit the output of EZB to just standard 4 strings.

  2. Here is a link to that thread. It's old and hasn't been updated in a while. But from looking it over you get the gist of it.

I am relatively new to the UA world also. Last sale I used the buy 3 get 4 deal to get the ones I really wanted. This new deal they have looking at it seems to be the best bang for buck would be the 3 for $299. That's 42% discount. Unless you want the whole shebang and get the Ultimate 8.

There is also a guy that has a really detailed 'buying pratices' in relation to UA sales year round. Can't find it right now. Not at home.

There's a bug in the forum. I've also encountered it. Seems to happen when you login to the main bandlab site and then come back to the forum.

Has anyone reported it? The Bandlab guys seem to be responsive to the forums problems.

Life just keeps getting in the way

I know what you're saying. Like I said in an earlier post, I just now got Miroslav and Syntronik sounds installed two days ago!! And I remember why it went like that, I got tired of installing all the ST2, 3 and 4 sounds. So, I took a break then life happened, and I forgot all about them!!

This forum software desperately wants to use my real name, and not my forum name!

That's what I can't figure out, why? It never asks me for my real name!!!

Watch out Larry, it wants something from you!!

the USB stick mailed to me.

Hopefully this new Download manager makes it easier going forward to get our content from them

Let us know if you get IKPM to see and use those files on the USB stick.

Has anyone used IK’s new download app to get those 260 GB of ST4 Max content (instead of having to download hundreds of separate files)?

Not for anything big. Unless you consider MODO Drums one of the big items. That install went flawlessly like abacab says.

downloaded that manually when it was first released. Wish I had the manager then, as it probably would have saved me a week or two

LOL!! I don't know about saving me weeks, but it surely would have saved me many days!! In fact, I just recently finished transferring all my Miroslav and Syntronik content to the new computer and installing all these sounds. I can tell you this, even if you put the zip files or the unzipped files in the d/l folder you have told IKPM to use, it still will not recognize that they are already d/l and are it's folder. So I had to install all that manually.  : (

    "The Hammond was shiny".

    Yup. Me too!

i am going to wait a little longer for this one to come down in price. Believe it or not, ST4 has some really good sounding organs when you put the Leslie after them. And for the time being, that's what I am using.

I just really wanted to bump this thread!

I decided to get this and blow my monthly voucher to bring the price right down. £24 for me after the 2 vouchers. Nice SSL.

That was a great deal!! You won't regret it. As much s**t  as I talk about PA, those SSL channel strips are really good.

    And all the Lindell plugins.

    And the MAAG pluings.

    And the Townhouse comp

This is why I still use Acronis.

True Image likes to store stuff in it's own data format.

It always has since I started using it

putting in a CD - pressing a few buttons/clicks and walking away for a few hours.  A full, bear metal, disaster recovery plan....just don't want anything else running on my PC...especially something that embeds itself into the operating system like True Image seems like it does.

I wondered about that when I first started using it. But other tech friends I know told me don't worry about it. It won't mess with the system. And in all the years of using it, it never came up as a cause for my trouble, nor have I ever thought about uninstallinng it. In fact, with the last three or four builds, it's the first thing I install right after Windows. I take a full clean image in case I need a new starting point. BTW, I have never used that image on any of my music machines. ?

Really I want a simple incremental backup system that runs automatically as I don't change the system much ...apart from all this stupid software I keep buying.  One click.

That's what Acronis does for me. And I could have kept using the older version, I was still on v17, but I want to stay updated as best I can and this price was a no brainer!!  I started out buying v10 (not 12), then going to v12, then v17, and now v21. So I don't always keep it up to date.

I don't know any way to avoid background tasks if you want to run an autopilot  backup schedule. I just put up with the extra tasks for the convenience.

Exactly. In fact there is only one thing that Acronis does that sometimes gets under my skin is when I go to restart or shut down, Acronis will tell me that it has to shut down a task it was doing before machine can shut down or restart. And that can take up to a minute.

my backup solution is a bit makeshift - is True Image any good ?  I don't want anything sitting in the background taking up CPU resources when I'm recording.....

I have used the full version of Acronis on my music computers since version 12. Depending on how you set it up, I have never had it interfere with my recording. I have more trouble out of Win10 messing with my settings after an update.

I have used Acronis longer than from version 12. It would come bundled on floppies with HDs that I would buy I believe. All I know is I got it for free. never paid for it until version 12.

    Use Disk Director too.

That's what Peter was saying too!! I don't think I have ever been in a IK GB that didn't go all the way!!

  13. This is a decent guitar sim. I won't say it sounds the greatest. But depending on your use it could very well fit the bill. With a keyboard it is really easy to get what you need.

    $9 is a steal!

  14. I picked this up. At this price it's a no brainer!

Looked at the plugin when it first came out but decided for the money, I already had it covered. But at this price I will jump on it.

Always like Nomad's stuff and still use it. I am sure this will make its' way into my workflow.
