Don't buy any W.A. Production apps.Ā They are all half baked plugins that never get many updates and are buggy.Ā
After buying 3 of thier half baked plugins, I realized how poorly the design is and how unwell it's made.Ā
If your buying the plugin for the appearance only, then go for it, if you desire what they say about the product to be true, dream on.Ā
They worked so hard to make their plugins nice looking, but seemed to not care to much about making them stable and sound good.
If that works for you, sure. Do it.
I have more than 10 plugin from WAProd.
They can be used while offline, no DRM stuff installed on my system, and if Iām changing the laptop/computer (aka selling it), I can give them an email and theyāll gladly help. They have super nice support. Been talking to them and they were always responsive.
I canāt give advice for everyone, but I can say that for me, WA plugins are a must have, at least a few of them like Vinai XTT, Deres, Imprint, Multibender, KSHMR stuff, Outlaw lite etc. These can always be used in offline mode and without the fear that youāll get your projects unopened in the future. The only thing I donāt like is that you canāt resell them. But never the less, if Iām getting something, Iām getting it to stay, so for me thereās never a downside.
And of course, I do agree that thereās never an option that suits all.
Always find what works for you, not for others. This is what I do. Ā
Cheers! āļø

Iāve just tried a demo of Babylon 1. Wow! Amazing. I meanā¦ to do all it can do and keep the CPU usage under 10% load is amazing! And it has great presets for layering.
Added myself on the waiting list for v2.
If v2 would add a preset manager so that I can add presets as favorites, or with possibility to tag them then this would be one of my goto synth cause it consumes such low CPU! Iām amazed!

Until next timeā¦ uninstalled!
Still using FLStudio, even upgraded it to All Plugins version, but Iām not going to install FL Cloud again, just because of that Socket Filter that can scan all my internet traffic. No thanks!

What vouchers have you accumulated? I have the one from Novation. Is the birthday one generic?
Birthday gift coupon means you have to add your real birthday into your account and youāll get a 30% off coupon that day as a birthday gift.
At some point, theyāve stopped sending those because some of the users abused the system, but you can still get it (if your birthday is not today or tomorrow ā you know what I mean?).
I remember that Iāve added my birthday after getting Producer Edition for Black Friday and next summer Iāve got it and used it to upgrade to Signature Edition for ~50ā¬.And today, after a few tries, Iāve finally got the All Plugins Edition Upgrade from Signature Edition in my cart for 96ā¬ (used 20% off coupon from Novation).

Whatās better? The app or the physical version?
I would prefer the physical version to read, but Iāve made a promise to my self that I will get only digital books/magazines to not have to manage the physical stuff when moving around.
While the physical version itās more easily and enjoyable to read, the digital version are available everywhere with your phone or tablet, even on laptop on web.
The pocketmags app works great on mobile and web.
Computer Music app on the other hand, is not that great, but it give you the discount mentioned above.
If you want to get them, try to download the Computer Music app and try to get that discount, cause for a few more bucks, you will get all back magazines, including these ones sold on magazinesdirect.
IMHO the content is great! Iāve already learned new stuff and sometimes it feels like Iām cheating, by following straight to the point instructions. And when reading them, your brain processes the information very differently from a video course, or YT. Iām very pleased that Iāve got these.

You'll probably hate to know that most VST3's still don't implement the feature where they shut off when not passing audio. I've only seen one developer implement it, and that developer also implemented it in their VST2's, AU's, and AAX's.
That ability is just a possible feature, developers are not required to implement it. Same with the other "new" features like UI resizing.
Steinberg only create the standard. They don't enforce it. It's up to the individual plug-in (and host) developers to implement the available features or not.
It's also possible (even common) to make VST2's that implement the "new" VST3 features. MeldaProduction's VST2's do the shutting down when not passing audio trick, and any number of developers' VST2's feature UI resizing, sidechaining, etc.
VST3 doesn't really add much, if anything, to what's possible within the VST2 spec.
It did create a canonical location for the DLL's, which was great, cured the eternal support issue of "I installed the plug-in and it doesn't show up in my DAW," but it also seemed to coincide with developers no longer supporting the API that populates hosts' preset managers with presets from the plug-in. VST3 uses an external preset system that fewer developers implement. It's turned into a situation where each plug-in has its own proprietary preset manager, which is a pain, 'cause you have to figure out where it is for every developer.
Sonar doesn't populate its native preset menu with the VST3 .vstpreset files, I know that at least S1 and REAPER do.
As long as your host(s) still support them, and they still function, there is no practical reason to stop using VST2-only plug-ins. I think Cubase and Nuendo are the only DAW's that stopped supporting them. And there are still some plug-ins where the VST2 version works with certain hosts while the VST3 version doesn't.
Thanks for the info. Didnāt knew that. I thought that was a standard for VST3, to cut processing if no signal passing through.
Do you know how to test a VST3 if they implement that feature?
For me, itās about fastness. Once Iāve cleaned up my VST folders, DAWs load much faster, scan much faster new plugs and for me is much easier search and find specific VST. But as you said, thatās not VST3 specific.

I woke up to this email today from InMusic/AIR:
"We've been listening to you and know how much you've missed using our classic plugins.
It's time to bring them back, better than ever, and we need your help to make it happen. Be among the first to experience the Apple Silicon and VST3 versions of our classic plugins."
Followed by a linkĀ that took me to a registration page that referred to it as an "open beta," and requested my name and email address.
The email also features an image of a sheaf of their instrument plug-ins, including my faves Hybrid 3, XPand!2, Vacuum Pro and Boom.
The ones I mentioned are not just my favorite AIR synths, they're my favorite synths PERIOD. And I'm not a total bottom feeder when it comes to soft synths, I have Chromaphone 3, Ultra Analog VA-3, and MASSIVE, among others, and Hybrid 3 and XPand!2 are still my best go-to's for inspiration (Hybrid's arpeggiator system is freakin ferocious).
I am cautiously optimistic about this development (no pun). In the past couple of years they released new synths that obviously leveraged some of the classics' underlying code, and while they're nice enough, they're basically cut down versions. But it indicates that AIR have at least hired some developers, and that they do good work.
Too many good plug-ins have fallen by the wayside during the transition to VST3 and Apple Silicon, so the fact that they're putting attention to these is good news. At least there will be these upcoming releases to update the dusty code.
They don't mention the #1 requested feature since the last major updates, which is a resizable UI. That has been screamed about so often on KVR that if they don't include it, people will be calling for boycotts of InMusic's entire product line.?Nor do they mention whether there will be any bug bounties that result in free licenses for people who submit unique showstoppers. It would also be nice to get a modernized skin for Hybrid 3; the current brushed aluminum one is starting to look a bit dated.
Of course I expect the subscription fear brigade to check in with assertions that this is a harbinger of subscription-only pricing to come.? But seriously, none of AIR's recent releases has been offered under that licensing model. And given AIR's history of decades between updates, there would be few takers.
I signed up, and when I know more, so will you....
I hate when a VST consumes the CPU when not used.
Iāve started the cleanup process for my VSTs. No VST3 means that theyāll be deleted somewhere in the near future. Iāve kept only a few VST1/2 instruments and effects that are great, but still plan to ditch them or replace them with others in the near future.
AIR instruments are great and Iām suuper glad that I can upgrade them to VST3.
Xpand2, Hybrid3 and Vaccum Pro are great and powerful synths.

I think these are the most useful magazine editions to be read by a Music Producer.
Their video tutorials are self explanatory!
Thanks Larry!
BTW: If you download the Computer Music Magazine app on Apple devices, youāll be prompted to āComplete your collectionā with all editions released back, up until this date, for ~50$. Thatās a great deal if youāre interested in all editions.
Myself, I was interested only in the editions posted by Larry.

The "add coupon" option only appears in certain countries. You might have to use VPN to see it.
You can get it to work by creating a new account and sending an email to them before 23 July.
Thereās a link āClick hereāat the bottom, that will open email with the following content:
āDear ADSR, please add producerlife 3 to the ADSR account associated with this email address ASAPā.
Note: You have to send the email from the email used to create the new account before July 23.

I just had a chance to try this, and it works great!
DisablingĀ UA Connect does not interfere with plugin function.
I can start using my UAD plugins again...
I hate that I have to be always online while using UAD plugins. I wish they did a check once in a while (a month or so) and let me use the plugin without having to get constantly online.
For me it goes like this:
Iām starting a session in offline mode, and at some point, drag a UAD plugin into a channelā¦ Plugin is not activated. Iām going online, open UAD refresh plugins, remove UAD plugin from the channel, put it back, still āPlugin is not activated.ā. So, I have to close the DAW and get back on for it to work. Excuse my manners, but I hate this sh*t, and I wonāt get an ilok usb just to make them work offline, and get that panic heart attack that I could lose it or it could break, and no, I wonāt pay for ZDC. Someone, please, tell them that they need to do something about this.
This is exacly why I didnāt upgraded to a higher bundle. And I wonāt upgrade until I see this fixed somehow.

Hey,
Just wondering, did anyone saw this?
$ 80 for 1 yearĀ access to FL Cloud and you get $ 50 coupon.
$ 100 for 1 year access to FL Cloud and you get $ 100 coupon.
I hate subscriptions, especially for plugins, but when the subscription comes with a voucher equals with what you pay, then I think it's a good deal.
You might take this into consideration if you plan on buying something fromĀ UVI, MeldaProduction, UnitedPlugins, or W. A. Production.
So basically, you can still get what you plan on getting but you also get 1 year FREE of FL Cloud.
Now I'm just wondering if this Rewards system, get's you another coupon the following year, when the subscription renews. Does anyone knows?

I donāt know this either. I mean thereās already a bunch of synths that are free of charge around like Vital, Podolski, TyrellN6, Zebralette, TripleChese, SurgeXT, BeatzilleCM, ZebraCM, and a lot more that sound great. Not to say some of us Ā already have the top paid ones like Sylenth1, Serum, Spire (even with AI presents generator), Massive, Massive X, FM8, Diva, Ana, Nexus, AirMusic stuff and all Kontakt, UVI and/or SampleTank instruments.
And still, we love to twist some new knobs every now and then.
āHey! Letās twist again!ā :))
Iāll be honest, I like the sound of it, but it seems that it needs a bigger sound brother in front of it. Ā
