    Nothing I really want ....

Same here but just because I already got so much from them. It's actually a great deal. They exclude some of the most attractive plugins, but I would have been happy to get Thorn + AMEK 9099 for $29.99, for example.

  3. That's crazy. Just this morning I was thinking to myself "I wonder when Serum 2 is coming out". No joke.

I have the Wedge Force Hydro, and despite poor demos, it is surprisingly good.

    https://www.wedgeforce.com/

Not sure what happened to the brand recently, though, as all their products are pulled off the PA site. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's the first positive review of a Wedge Force product that I've ever seen. Maybe that's also the reason why PA don't want to be associated with them anymore.

Quick side comment on VSTis (in general)... bear in mind that some go on sale with pretty steep discounts. Both Iron 2 and Carbon were given away at some point years ago. Just keep that in mind when looking at VSTis.. many have sales early summer and BF so unless you need something "right now" it may be best to monitor them.

Iron 2 free? Are you sure? I know they gave Iron 1 for free but never heard that they did that with Iron 2.

Problem is, you can't amp it outside of the plugin AFAIK (no clean sounds).

Iron 2 does have a DI mode, though. If you switch off all other effects and use DI mode, I believe you should have something that you can use with your amps.

Has anyone tried Iron 2 by UJAM?

I'm curious if it will give me that sound?

Yes, I have. It sounds great and gives you good sounding results quickly because it comes with patterns that it can play for you at the press of a key. Which might be the reason why real guitar players look down on it. Also, you have less control over the sound.

Shreddage 3 Hydra (and also other Shreddage guitars) is also well suited to play that type of rhythmic guitar.
Look at some of the videos by Impact Soundworks on YouTube, like these:

It's a good thing that IK eliminated the download timeout penalty....

So true. Removing the 180 day download restriction turned me from a hater to a fan. I can understand why they had it in place though. Allowing people to download hundreds of GB does cost them money too.

I feel like a dunderhead, admitting this, but IK Product Manager can be a confusing beast, and yes, it's not 100% clear exactly what content comes with ST4MAX2. Today I was browsing through IK Product Manager and noticed something:

Somehow I hadn't installed all of the extra Syntronik 2 instrument libraries and Sample Tank construction kits that the MAX license entitled me to. Somehow I thought it had, both Syntronik 2 and Sample Tank 4 have tons of Syntronik instruments and construction kits, enough so that I didn't even notice that there was about 50G of content left to install. 5 Syntronik instruments, Electric Piano Bass, Clavitube, Bionic Drums and half a dozen of the EDM construction kit add-ons.

I discovered this by clicking on the "Sounds" tab and scrolling down. I guess clicking on the button to install Syntronik 2 on the "Software" page omits a lot of the stuff that is available individually as soundware. Makes sense now, but I guess it got past me the first time around.

Maybe you're not as clue-challenged as I and you've had all of your Syntronik and Sample Tank libraries installed from day one, but if you're not 100% sure, click on that "Sounds" tab and scroll slowly all the way down and make sure. There's a LOT of scrolling to do to get to the bottom.

It's a good thing that IK eliminated the download timeout penalty....

Even worse, having upgraded from 3.5 MAX to 4 MAX, the product manager tells me that the additional synths are installed when really they only had 2 or 3 presets inside - maybe from some of the expansions. So I looked up which synths are new to 4 MAX and checked which only had very few presets in my installation and clicked "Reinstall" for all those. Not very intuitive and user friendly.

For clarification of actual content, you get some sounds for each synthesizer, but not all soundbanks from all 200 synths.    I was hoping to get a D-50 with this purchase but there are maybe a dozen D-50 sounds included.

Not discounting the value of this product, it is quite good.   Just saying if you are expecting a full library of 200 synths that is not what this product is.

    Regards

That's not really surprising though. 4000 presets over 200 synths means an average of 20 presets per synth, obviously.

  11. Wow, the intro price was $49?! I missed that. I would have bought it too, probably.

I wonder, is it worth buying if I already have Syntronik 2? Both seem to be quite similar as they're both basically romplers with sampled synthesizers and some settings that let you tweak the sound.
What annoys me a little about Syntronik is that it takes a little while to load a preset. Will probably be the same with Synth Anthology, because they have to load the samples. Or is it quicker?

    no one does that

That's what you think. I did and many others too, on Knobcloud. And why wouldn't you? If you're disappointed, it's better to pass it on to someone else who might have a use for it and who missed the sale.

No transfer fees, easy transfer mechanism and unlike other vendor's soundbanks you're actually allowed to transfer them.

    https://store.dreamtonics.com/product/upgrade-for-voice-databases-2-0/

Dreamtonics is going to release version 2 of their Synthesizer V Studio, the tool that allows you to create vocals from MIDI + lyrics.
I believe it will be released in April 20th. But you can already pre-order.

People who don't own Synthesizer V yet can order the bundle "Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro + Any Version 2 Voice" for $149. After release it will cost $178.

The regular upgrade price from V1 to V2 will be $49, but if you pre-order now you can get the upgrade for $39. As part of this upgrade, you will also receive one complimentary voice of your choice (Mai 2, Liam, or Mo Xu) on launch day.

You can also get discounts for the voice-upgrades. The regular price for upgrading the voices from Dreamtonics will be $29, but before April 20th it's $19. Greater discounts if you upgrade multiple voices. For example, if you upgrade 5 voices, that costs $79.
