Good tune & groove, reminds me of The Band. The singer did a great job, tight harmonies & fits the tune. Enjoyed it!

Cool tune, reminds me of the airwaves growing up in Detroit- Kinks, Airplane, Seeds, Big Brother & Petty. Enjoyed it.

Thanks Douglas, appreciate it. Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks, ending was a quick envelope of the fx faders. Glad you liked the tune. Thanks Tom, all points noted: crispy guitar/ not Latin! Thanks David, Spyro Gyra--that's a band I haven't heard in a long time! reminds me of N.Y. in the 70's.

"Tongue Depressor Symphony" (with video) - mix ideas??
Hidden Symmetry replied to PhonoBrainer's topic in Songs
This is great Tom. I thought both the song & video were excellent. I listened on laptop but it sounded really nice, full but could hear all the parts making up the mix. I also thought the video was perfect for it, I got it. Excellent job all the way around. -
Thanks freddy & glad you liked that bend into pitch! Thanks Paul, appreciate it, Thanks for the feedback David, lots of good points. I'm listening to the tune briefly while mastering other projects in this album & am getting some ideas. Will be keeping these in mind as well.

Hi Lynn & thanks. I'll check into that. There's not much reverb on the drums but could be the ER's or the EQ. Thanks Tom, I used the drum more of a simple clock so yeah there's not much going on. Since you bring the point up though I'm going to go back in & do some editing. I'll try adding nuances to the track to help it sound a bit less sterile. I'll make sure to check the bass as well. Yeah, I wanted the kick felt more than heard, I'll to go back in & swap a few kicks in/out including the beaters. Maybe that will 'trigger' something I'm might be overlooking. Thanks! Thanks Douglas, yeah not much guitar on this track. I wrote & recorded it one afternoon then moved on. Maybe I'll do an alt version one day featuring more guitar! That's very kind of you to say- appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the tune. Besides fusion I actually enjoy writing & recording these muzak type tunes. I get that it's not for everyone so thanks Chuck! --And thanks to all for the comments & feedback left. It helps me approach things at different angles or points out aspects that I may have otherwise missed completely. Again, be safe...

Thanks for your feedback. Glad the mix is working for you, no, not much limiting on these masters.

I'm on laptop plus couldn't get your link to Orfium to work so only played the SC version. I like the tune overall just think the vocals are a little pitchy in spots. BTW you can upload higher quality mp3's on BandLab.

Thanks Douglas, good to hear the mix sounds o.k. in your cans.

Cool track, reminds me not to slouch so much as I mix. Love those Rick Wright sounding lines.

thanks, I do plenty of punching in but sometimes removing the rough edges removes the character. -thank you kindly thank you, a horn player from Switzerland played the main trumpet plus sample libraries in the background padded way back in the orch mix..

Dependence Day - Collaboration from Daryl 1968 and Lynn
Hidden Symmetry replied to Lynn Wilson's topic in Songs
Good tune & performances. Your parts fit the tune nicely. On my laptop but it seems balanced, enjoyed it. -
Final Mix- Recorded a doodle using my Squier gtr. then developed into the tutti section then rest of the tune. Several issues on this. I'm not going to re-cut any of the scratch tracks. I always like to leave the initial germ of the tune even when poorly performed or recorded. thanks

Invisible - latest experiment - latest mix 3/16/20
Hidden Symmetry replied to Lynn Wilson's topic in Songs
Nice one Lynn, enjoyed it, has that Gabriel vibe. I'm on laptop so can't really comment on the mix but maybe the hat & that high end type wash could come down a notch to help the vox stick out more. -
