Thanks so much Rik. You have a point on the guitar level, I think I might go in and adjust! -
Pink Floyd The Wall Side 3, Part 1 (Hey You, Is There Anybody Out There?)

Thanks so much, Larry!! -
Hey all, wanted to present to you my latest (and largest!) cover project, an extended remake/rework/remix/reproduction of one of my all time favorite album "sides", Pink Floyd The Wall, Side 3 (Tracks 14-19). This is Part 1 of 3, Hey You and Is there Anybody Out There? A multitude of digital means and methods were used to recreate these iconic tunes (which were originally done in analog, of course!). All vocals are 100% redone. Here's how everything else came together: Hey You- Full reproduction, using some predone MIDI sequences, as well as my own playing and programming. I put flesh on the bones using a variety of synths and samplers. Joined on vocals by my Floydian friend and singing partner Tone Hjelt from Oslo, Norway. Is There Anybody Out There?- Pretty much same as above! Used some predone MIDI sequences, some my own playing/programming, and put a touch of the original instrumental track under the opening drone swell to enhance the sound. Background TV sounds and assorted voices taken from original tracks, of course! Everything I recorded was done via synthesizers, samples, and sequencing. All done in CbB. I know I'm definitely swimming in deep waters here, but this was a very fun and incredibly challenging project! Didn't attempt to reinvent the wheel, just tried to polish up the rims a bit, and create an immersive listening experience for these timeless and iconic tunes! I will plan on posting Part 2 (Nobody Home, Vera, Bring The Boys Back Home) and Part 3 (Comfortably Numb) in the near future.

Really cool track, well played. Overall, well balanced, I guess what you're getting at is the guitar is hot and in your face, and the keyboards not so much. I imagine your guitar is mono, and your keyboards are stereo. If that's the case, maybe try splitting your keyboard into two mono tracks, and hardpan them right and left. That would keep some spaciousness, but would probably push them upfront a little bit more and add some edge. You could try saturating the keyboard signal a little bit too.

Really well done cover Steve! You really captured the vibe of the original, and dig what you did with the video. Great work!! ππππΆπΆπΆπΆ

Full band collaboration/remake of the iconic tune by The Who, released on their 1982 album It's Hard. I've always loved this song, and I've been hearing it around a lot lately (including on TV shows, i.e. Severance, Kobra Kai). Thought I would take a deep dive and attempt a cover of it! Tried to remain faithful to original, but with just a tad funkier vibe to it! Fabulous efforts by my ever capable compadres from Bandlab, Fabian (bass), Craig (drums), and Ross M. (guitar). I am on keys and vocals. As usual on these collabs, I did my tracks in Cakewalk, and then uploaded them to a new project on Bandlab. The other guys did their thing and added their tracks, and then I brought everything back in to CbB to mix/master. On my end, here's my mainstay stuff I used: Sequenced keyboard/organ part- UVI Falcon (mostly) and NI Massive- ran a filter sweep also using a free funky plug-in called Frohmager. A few embellishments from the original Pete T organ sequence were used here and there to keep some of the original character Electric Piano- Keyscape Vintage Vibe Drum Machine Loop- Kontakt CR-78 Korg Kronos (hardware synth)- Frills, trills, and horns in middle break Vocal Microphone- Warm Audio WA-47jr FET- used a combination of Kontakt Raum and Wave Alchemy Magic7 reverbs, with old trusty Nasty DLA for vocal delay effects Interface- Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Other Key Plugs- NI Supercharger compressor, TDR Nova EQ, JS Inflator (free Sonnox Inflator alternative)

Roland Fantom + Cakewalk - Β import custom presets and samples
Ross Smithe replied to gmp's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Gotcha. Have you checked on Facebook for a Fantom user group? Maybe you could find some help there. I have 3 hardware synths in my studio (Korg, Yamaha, Alesis) but no Fantom. The vast majority out there are just using VSTi's with controllers now, you know?! I wanted a Roland sound library also and actually considered a Fantom, but for that I opted for Zenology π -
Roland Fantom + Cakewalk - Β import custom presets and samples

Not exactly sure what you're asking, if you're talking about where to put a new patch/preset in the Fantom memory. If so, that would be more of a Fantom question than Cakewalk one. Seems like the thing to do would be to find an empty user bank/slot on the synth and place it in one of those.
