  1. First, check the interface as an input under midi devices in preferences. Second, load a VST instrument you want to trigger as a simple instrument track. Third, on your midi track, set the output to that instrument. At that point you should be in business.
  2. I hear you about EC, he definitely created beauty from ashes with this one! Thanks for listening and for your encouragement.
  3. Thanks Bjorn for listening and for the encouragement! It was a great experience composing thematically to video. The film represented strenuous activity before lighthearted fun. Thanks for your suggestions also!
  4. Fabulous performance and production. Great job!!
  5. Hey Jack, thanks for listening. I’ll check that out.
  6. Hey John, appreciate the encouragement. It’s all good, I had a blast doing it! Thanks, Ross
  7. Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking time to check it out!
  8. Hey Daryl, thanks for listening! Appreciate the kind words. The organ is actually off a hardware unit, Yamaha Motif. I usually do about half hardware and half VST on my stuff.
  9. Hey Nigel, thanks so much for listening and for the encouraging words! I’m not really a soundtrack guy, so it was a great learning exercise for me.
  10. Uncheck all the Realtek boxes, that should do it.

Nice catchy, hooky tune! Solid performance and production value. As has been said, definitely reminds me of early Chicago stuff, especially the horn solo. Vocals are fantastic too. All around great job, congrats on this.
  12. Wow what a totally unique cover of this DP song! Fabulous job!
  13. Beautiful music!! Really fabulous job capturing this, thanks for posting
  14. Here a cover of Eric Clapton's classic Tears In Heaven I'm reworking a bit. Among other things, I finally got around to downloading Ample Guitar Lite, and am giving it a test run on this. Put together a simple video to go with.
  15. Great job! Performance and production are excellent!
  16. Hey Lynn, absolutely fantastic work you’ve done here! Very creative songwriting, and your (and Mark’s) performance are top notch. Production really fits too, well executed, as has been said sounds quite “Beatle-esque “. Kind of reminds me of Cheap Trick’s Heaven Tonight also (and that one reminds me of the Beatles, lol!). The only comment I might make is the vocals struck me as sitting too forward in the mix. Could be you were trying to make them more in your face, it just struck me with the kind of trippy, psychedelic mix you have going on that the more stark vocal kind of stood out too much. You do have the cool delay effect going on, maybe a reverb effect to push it back and blend it in a bit? Just a thought. Again, great work!
  17. Hey, thanks for taking the time to listen and for the encouraging words. I have to keep that cool video idea in mind for the future, lol! ??
  18. Hey @markno999, thank you for listening, and for your kind words. I didn’t really think about the Steve Stevens, but you’re right, lol! The musical arrangement of the song was connected to the video, strenuous at the beginning, and then lighthearted at the end.
  19. I normally do about 50% VST/50% hardware synths on my stuff. On this one though, was almost exclusively done on hardware, mainly my Korg Kronos. I did use Kontakt Factory Rock Guitar run thru TH3 (layered with another guitar from Kronos) for the middle guitar section.
  20. Outstanding collab!! The music is cohesive and really works. Great production value as well. Congrats on this!
  21. This is very cool! Great tune, well performed and produced. And showing the CW plug in stuff is the cherry on top!
  22. Outstanding cover! This tune really takes me back, and you absolutely did it justice. Great work!!
