Kudos to Larry! Only issue is it reduces the roll in my pocket. Money for cool stuff. That's a fair trade.

I am sooo curious what the Bakers are up to next... ?

Mackie emulation improvements are wonderful. So many controllers use it. No matter what Cakewalk does there's a troll on KVR to tell you how obsolete the software is and how much better something else is. -
Still testing negative here. Using those inaccurate tests. I like the results they give.

I looked like maybe he was recollecting someone who was on the CH awhile back. -
I had a similar issue. I moved files to another drive. Most programs will allow moving libraries if you keep the program on C drive.I simply point to a new library location. Not BFD 3.

Thanks @InstrEd Appears to be very mild at this point. My job is pretty much isolated, so I went in. I appreciate the words there Shane. My wife is a school teacher so it was probably only a matter of time. I am surprised she went this long without catching it. Luckily it isn't that bad for her. Hope you start to improve soon. But............... I want a test that reads negative Who wants a positive test? What I don't know won't hurt me.....hopefully. I hear ya @Jesse Screed

We have both had two vaccines and the booster. WT..........?????? I have lost faith totally in these vaccines. Especially if those getting it who have had a vaccine are more prone to it. No one here probably wants me to get into my opinions on this so far. My views are along the lines of the Epoch Times. Nuff said. SHANE- I am truly sorry to hear of this man. If you weren't sick I would gladly have invited you over as you are just over the state line not too far. Get well soon.

Don't know how this ties in. Maybe it doesn't. I spent over an hour last night looking at how to make fried chicken videos. I don't think it was a total waste. I even learned how to make buttermilk biscuits. I am going to cook like my Nanny. Southern fried chicken in the frying pan. A few important tips. Use an oil with a higher flash point that doesn't have flavor transfer (so you can reuse the oil) Peanut oil has a high flash point. Canola oil is a healthy alternative. Chicken should be at room temperature and a thermometer should be used to keep the oil at 350F. Cooler chicken will lower the oil temp. Me- Dude has an account at Groove 3 to learn software. Spends an hour watching fried chicken videos. -
My wife just caught it. I'm 2 days in testing negative. I am not hopeful. Closed in house with her it's probably going to happen. Fingers crossed it doesn't. They say you should quarantine if you're around someone who has it. I'm thinking if I go to work I will be breathing better air. FWIW my wife's symptoms don't seem all that bad yet. If I didn't know better I would think she has a bad cold/flu.

Have you tried putting the IR in a send channel and sending the guitar to it?

In Your Face BASS - What's your strategy?
Tim Smith replied to musikman1's topic in Production Techniques
Trillian is a nice piece of kit there @musikman1 We all have our favorites. I don't think the software is necessarily as important as the technique. I like all the new stuff same as everyone else does and also being a tech lover I could get all caught up in just the tools we have access to. I believe this applies to not only instruments but most plugins as well. Lots of great sampled basses out there Trillian being one. I have a bunch of the Waves plugins. I see them as both relevant and old school. My perceptions are largely shaped by the fact that back in the day it was PT and Waves in all the big studios. Both of those are still as good as ever. Waves has made many improvements in their plugins. I also use TRacks and many others. I can make any decent compressor handle bass input. If you are familiar with the Waves line you might have heard of Bass Rider. It works like a compressor and is made for bass. Has a bunch of presets. Any good compressor will do though so long as we can set it up. I admit, most of the things I learned about compression were simply through use of it. Some people use it like a ketchup lover uses ketchup. They slather it on everything. I use compression judiciously or not at all. In the natural world compression does not exist. We hear distant sounds and we hear close sound. If Pedro is singing a bit too loud in the choir we can ask him to lower his voice to balance with the rest. Living in an analog world sounds don't often splat with sudden bursts of energy in context to the rest of the surrounding noise. A firecracker or gunshot might be an exception. If we were mixing a gunshot we would probably be compressing it with a very fast attack. Recorded gunshots don't sound anything like real gunshots and what comparison do we have in the real world to 'mud' in a mix? The 300-500 hz range seems to be the area where we can make or break bass. We tend to feel sub bass but we hear the mids. Carving well in this area is usually where I can gain an advantage. Many have said mono for bass is a good idea and I would agree. There are occasions where a properly mixed synth bass in stereo adds something to a mix. Either through use of plugins or in using EQ in multiple tracks the higher elements of bass can be separated from the lower elements. That way only the higher elements can be stereo while leaving the lower elements as mono if preferred. Bass tends to overpower both mixes and sound systems often designed with a bass heavy emphasis. It can be a challenge to find a middle ground that cuts and defines itself, doesn't over power and yet still sounds great on multiple systems and this defines the difference between a good mixer and a person with mixing software ( not saying I've arrived). -

No one will ever be holy enough right? You know I don't think about it much because I guess I don't want to face the fact that it feels almost like I have lost something, call it a sensitivity to the music. Like I've almost been desensitized to it. Back when music was a new thing for me I remember associating music with other things like girls I liked at the time. Every time I would see that girl I would think of that particular song. I have one girl permanently associated with Free Bird. After she grew up she looked like a hound dog. I still have those earlier pre hound dog memories. I sure am glad I never hooked up seriously with her. My kids would have been dog ugly but probably would have had good hearing and sense of smell. Not to trivialize that sense of loss I think you feel. I do feel a lot of the magic is lost. Can it be recovered? Only God knows. The music doesn't change but we change. I believe the associations are part of what made the music great for me. It was like a package deal. If the associations go away or change radically, the polish is gone or diminished. The music is only part of it. Some maybe associate certain music with an event or a time in life. Maybe we could all say , "I remember" in relation to a song. If our present is uneventful, there isn't much to associate anything with. Maybe the mistake is in not finding music we can appreciate apart from anything else. Takes a lot of dopamine.
