I don't think I expected anything else from a company that charges for x.5 updates. I'm sure Cubase is a very fine product, but charging for updates and needing a dongle are two things that stopped me from considering Steinberg when Cakewalk went under.

A fairly good deal, though not sure why someone would buy at 20% off when they could have bought at up to 50% off (+further 10% with 3 or more products) during the BF sale just a few weeks ago.

Depends what you're after - AD give 'back' 10% with their DeluxeBucks; PB give 5%, plus 20p per review

Ubisoft Xmas Giveaway 2020 and Epic's holiday promotion (video games)

Hey @Eusebio Rufian-Zilbermann - I just noticed the link in your signature and decided to click it; strangely, I no longer feel so bad about the number of plugins I have . At 4420 items your plugin scan must take minutes! In a private version of that spreadsheet, I dare you to put in the cost of each plugin and look at the total ? -
Are you sure Reid? I'm only asking because to my understanding, Adagio has gone through a few iterations and apparently the newest version doesn't have what the original versions did - I'm happy to stand corrected, as I'm a little confused about this string library's evolution.

Amplitube 5 is here - Release Date 15/12/20 or 16/12/20

Interesting... I might pick this up one day. I admit I haven't fully followed this thread, so sorry if these questions have already been answered but: With previous versions, I could buy any edition and get any missing gear I needed separately as and when needed. Is this the same with AT5? I saw something about VIR that might mean you can't 'upgrade' your editions (CS/SE/Standard/Max) through the custom shop? It looks like the AT5 installer is quite big because of the IRs - are these subject to the 180 day download time limit? -
Both deeply sampled and sampled in exquisite detail sound wonderful. However, I don't have 75GB to spare on a piano/s; as much as I have loved the sound of some pianos recently on sale, I'll stick with Pianoteq.

Sounds like something's gone wrong at the DNS level, and all websites are being redirected

I signed up and got the music box earlier; didn't get redirected to another site

If making a purchase, it might be a good idea to use the secure/https version of the website https://www.cobbermedia.com/product/music-box-dlx/

Hey Joe - when did that come through? I made a purchase on Friday evening (first day for that promotion) and have been waiting for the freebie. Thought it might be because a person needs to 'authorise' it rather than it being an automated thing, though I'm currently wondering if I need to write to them (though they probably wouldn't respond on the weekend)

Good spot - my fault for just copy/pasting that bit from their blog without checking

The New Adagio Bundle Anthology $98 Or, you can get the individual volumes separately: The New Adagio Violins $38 (goes $248 on December 25th) The New Adagio Violas $38 (goes $248 on December 25th) The New Adagio Cellos $38 (goes $248 on December 25th) The New Adagio Basses $38 (goes $248 on December 25th) https://8dio.com/ Personal disclaimer: with the transformations that the Adagio series has gone through, I have no idea whether the $98 bundle includes everything that all of the separate $38 volumes would have; if anyone knows, please add to the thread.

It won't matter - somehow, Larry just knows ?

Worth noting that this is also available from Time+Space, where any purchase over £10 will get you AAS Solids. Hopefully AAS will be willing to substitute Solids for another pack if you already have it.

They've been a little sporadic with their emails as well. For those who can remember to check, they update their blog post (fairly regularly) with their daily deals: https://8dio.com/2020/12/03/holiday-sale/ The latest deal is for 15 Dec: Dark Prophecy for $48

Completely agree with this. Just as an example, there have been 23 Cinematique Instruments KLANG freebies and 10 8Dio On the House libraries released so far (that I'm aware of). If you considered the price of Kontakt (which would be even less if you you crossgrade from a Player library), you could think of it as £11 per instrument; even less if you start considering freebies from other companies.

To all guitar amp sim fans - how does AT5 compare (sound and cpu) with the competition? (e.g. BIAS FX, TH-U, S-Gear, Nembrini, your current favourite amp sim) -
Windows update thread -20H2 current ( also, impact on CW )

You may (or not) want to consider upgrading at some point: iirc each release is normally supported for 18 months - 1903 would have been released around March 2019. -
Sonokinetic freebie (limited quantity) - Ibrido Favola

They go really fast! There were just over 600 when I started the sign-up process - down to around 350 by the time I was able to get a copy. -
8DIO Daily Offering - Majestica, Dual Harps, and 1901 Upright

Looks like they have reintroduced their 'bundle maker' though - if anyone has enough left over to spend, these discounts are available with the corresponding code: -
You might still be able to save 25% on the Bela D media shop with the code SAVE25 https://www.beladmedia.com/

If I'm not interested in using Rigs, is upgrading from TH-3 to TH-U worth it? (e.g. modelling quality, features, etc) I already have Bias FX 2 (yeah, I know some people say it's rubbish, but I think it sounds good enough for me)

How usable are these libraries? The demos sound great (as do those for most of the 8Dio libraries), but I'm thinking these might be one-trick ponies, especially after reading Simon's comment.

I watched the first 40 seconds, thought that was the entirety of the video after the fade-out, and thought "they've made a choir library release trailer, and the only instrument I heard was a piano"... and then realised there there samples afterwards Sounds quite good for a free instrument - there's some warbling or phasey effect (not sure those are the right words) to my ears, but it sounds better than some free choir libraries I've used in the past.
