  1. In terms of searchability, it can't be that much worse than having numbered Windows versions; I remember trying to search for how to do things in the version after Vista, and all I got was every page that had a list of at least 7 items to do with any version of Windows ? Back on topic, Inner Balance does sound cool; it seems like it's a bunch of loops though so it may or may not be that flexible.
  2. From https://cinesamples.com/productGroup/end-of-life Looks like it means you can re-download them, and ask their support team who may or may not be able to get it working. I'm a little surprised that they canned some of their newer libraries like Continuum Guitars and Sew What; I guess they're focusing on their orchestral roots.
  3. Very meticulously priced: $104.99 + 19.99 for the new MasterDesk = $124.98; $0.02 short of the $75 voucher limit ?
  4. Looks good, and (as we'd expect from the King of Deals ?) at a great price too! Hope you enjoy it Larry!
  5. Don't know if true, but I heard a story that there was a newsroom where there was this guy; he stood up and loudly asked the room whether anyone knew what the German word for Schadenfreude was ?
  6. no... but there may be some snaps and possibly a few stomps ?
  7. My mistake; I thought the intention was to move it to a completely different folder, e.g. on a different drive with more space.
  8. because it wasn't useful (e.g. the patterns weren't very good), or that it felt 'old'?
  9. I've never tried SoundPaint - the footprint of the libraries had put me off - but I got the impression that the Kontakt libs were for realism; SoundPaint was more sound-designy, with layer mixing, etc.
  10. I'm not sure I understand the current popularity of phone versions of plugins... maybe for guitar amp packages if you're travelling and don't want to bring lots of guitar equipment - but a reverb? Don't get me wrong: it's cool, and I'm sure there's a valid use case; I just don't understand it (yet?)
  11. Fair point. And no - I don't think every business should adopt Adobe's model; the moment CorelDRAW went sub-only, I picked up Affinity Designer.
  12. There's a slight difference though - with the Forever 29 sub, you only get one voucher a month: let's say someone wanted 10 plugins; that'd be 10 months that they would subscribe for which lines up with PA's goal of having a (somewhat) steady income stream rather than getting income spikes here and there. I say somewhat because it's possible to cancel at any time. I think the vouchers above $25 are still unique.
  13. I've tried to find the answer to this question - as far as I know, yes; Music is a 'lite' version of PRO. On the dearVR website, it says that you can upgrade to PRO, so I take that as meaning the features in PRO are a superset to those of Music. Happy to stand corrected if I'm wrong though.
  14. The most discounted I've seen dearVR PRO go for previously was $99, and that only happened once that I can remember. Also, the previous $29 vouchers always excluded the dearVR range; they (i.e. the $30 vouchers) work now though!
  15. Available now: https://www.tracktion.com/products/novum
  16. Loops aren't really my thing, and I don't really want the hassle of signing up and cancelling; unless there's a reason for me to sign up (maybe their mastering/publishing service, but not just yet), I'm happy with the voucher.
  17. IK must have generated a lot of cash when combining this GB and the recent one that just ended, and yet... it's still not enough to buy a code signing certificate to digitally sign their binaries?
  18. Their prices are all over the place. I bought a library from them during a sale when it went for a fairly good discount - they then offered a bundle containing that library for a lower price a few days later. If it was a one-off/rare occurrence I'd just write it off as bad timing on my part (you win some, you lose some); it's happened quite frequently though. Makes you wonder if they offer the bundle for such low prices so frequently, why can't their vouchers be used on their sale items? Maybe bundles I'd understand, but single products too?
  19. It looks like a different beast from Kontakt: Kontakt is a deep sampler that 'plays' like an instrument; this looks more like a sound/loop player with an integrated online library of sounds (no disrespect - right tool for the right job). I suspect there could be three reasons why this is sub-only: It 'contains' all of PA's plugins, so selling this separately could be seen as a 'cheat' way to get their plugins It's too hard to decouple plugin access from online library access It's aimed at people who are likely to accept subs: people that like to buy plugins would probably go for Kontakt, which can most likely do what this can and more. Of course, this is just speculation on my part - it could be that none of the above are true.
  20. The smallest library footprint I've seen yet for SoundPaint
  21. I think instead of 1, 2, and 11 speaker bundles, they should just allow for build-your-own bundles: choose how many speakers you want and whether or not you want a calibration mic; the price is calculated dynamically.
  22. I think they're separate instruments in the same series - the first one was based on electric guitars; this one seems to be based on piano samples
  23. Possibly it's only available if you take a subscription with them? Missed opportunity in my opinion - they could have made the sampler available to use, but lock down access to the online sample pool.
  24. I think it depends on where you live. Authors get automatic copyright in countries that signed up to the Berne convention. As I understand, the US has done so relatively recently and may still require copyright registration - I don't live there though, so could be wrong on that one.
