  1. That was fun Bjorn - thanks for posting. I don't think I have any audio tapes from my youth, but I have plenty of 4-track demos from the 90's?
  2. Was that a wah-wah on an acoustic for the lead lick - if it was, that was wild - it works really well. Quality song and composition - I enjoyed the listen. Nicely done.
  3. An impressive song about a controversial subject - interesting - that synth gave your song a bit of an 80's vibe. Nicely done.
  4. That was an enjoyable experience - great guitar playing and tone. Your Les Paul sounds excellent. I played a Strat exclusively for years, but I recently picked up a Les Paul and I love it - a totally different playing experience, in my opinion. Nicely done.
  5. That was cool Wookiee - I enjoyed it. I really liked the sound of that lead synth - almost sounded like a talk box for a guitar.
  6. Another trippy tune from you - that was a wild ride and lots of different sound effects going on. You definitely made me think of Zappa on this one. Nicely done.
  7. An enjoyable funky groove - the mix sounded really good to me. The lead guitar playing was top-notch. This composition made me think of something Pat Metheny for some reason. Nicely done.
  8. Cool blues tune - I thought it was a catchy tune that had me thumping to the beat. I liked the vocal doubles as well. Nicely done.
  9. freddy j - Thank you very much for your comments and for listening. antler - I'll see what I can do about those cymbals - thanks for your comment and for listening. ABull - I'm glad you enjoyed the listen - thanks.
  10. Excellent intro - and this song really rocks. Your vocal made me think a bit of Halford on this one. I think it's a really good song - you're the metal master on this forum and you're a top-notch songwriter. "Destination Unknown" is a cool theme for the song. Tasty solo - nicely done. The keys surprised me - but it works. The only crit I can think of is maybe the bass could use a bit more definition in the mix - the rhythm guitars sort of dominate and I can't really hear the bass. I enjoyed the listen, and thanks for posting.
  11. joad - Thank you very much for your comments and for listening. Bob Oister - Hey Bob, I hope you had a good 4th of July. I'm going to try your suggestions in my next mix - to be honest I struggled with this mix - it fights me for some reason, so maybe your ideas will work. Thanks?
  12. Your music is definitely original - and I thought this song was a trip. In other words, your music is a lot of fun to listen to. Nice job on the collab guys.
  13. I think this song rocks - a very cool blues tune. This would have been a good song for the Fabulous Thunderbirds to cover. Nice job and thanks for posting.

    Opposites

Bjorn - your vocal on this one made me think of Elliott Smith - maybe it was the mood of the song as well. Anyway, I enjoyed the listen - so keep them coming. Cheers, Doug
  15. Oh man that made me sad looking at the picture of your pup while listening to the song. Sorry for your loss. I thought the electronic piano sounded fine, but maybe an acoustic would be better - I don't know. Anyway - good composition and thanks for posting. I thought the mix sounded pretty good to my ears.
  16. That was a wild ride all the way through - the mix sounded excellent. Thanks for posting.
  17. I liked this one a lot - from start to finish. I was impressed by the mood of it - which fit your deserted beach description. Hard to find those on the 4th of July weekend?

    Belladonna

I could hear the Carlos Santana influence on your guitar playing - very nice. Cool tune and thanks for posting. I thought the mix sounded fine.
  19. bjornpdx - Thank you very much for your comments and for listening. Lynn - Your comments are very kind - thanks for listening. I'll see if I can make the bass it bit more prominent in the mix - thanks for your suggestion. synkrotron - Thank you very much for your comments and for listening. I know what you mean about the vocals sounding like they are in a different space - I'll have to take a look again regarding compression on the guitars - I used TH3. emeraldsoul - Thank you very much for your comments. I should try shopping some demos around (thanks for saying that) - I know the big companies don't take unsolicited material. Regarding the cymbals, I'll see what I can do there.
  20. Nice job - your vocal is close to the real deal. What fx did you use on the lead vocal?

  23. Hi Everybody, This is a song I wrote back in 2009 which I never posted, and it's off my "Wishful Thinking" album. Please let me know if you have any critiques of the mix, and thanks for listening. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v4/player.cfm?songID=13529046
  24. I thought it made me think of ELP a bit - a bit of a progressive piece. Nice job. Thanks for posting.
  25. I really enjoyed the listen. Funny - I bought a classical guitar last year - my first nylon string. It is a lot of fun to play - sort of a different world from a steel string. Thanks for posting.
