This. Your system will always have a certain amount of latency. You only hear that if you listen to both the direct input mixed with the output from your computer system. Easy to test. Dial in your direct monitoring so you hear your vocal or guitar from the input blended equally with the DAW playback in your headphones Now arm an audio track for recording and toggle the input echo button. You will hear the delay. The amount of delay depends on the quality of the drivers and your system and how low you can set your buffer before you get dropouts or crackles in your audio. it also a good idea to optimize your playback by bypassing certain effects. I always toggle the bypass effects when tracking both audio and midi. Buffer settings are set in the ASIO control panel of the interface. Not in Cakewalk. Those will be greyed out in ASIO mode.

So bottom line is use a VST piano that supports tuning. There are lots of them
-
Wow what a bunch of garbage on that site. This is one of the best user forums for any software. Always been that way.
-
Input echo should automatically be activated when you choose a midi track.
-
The tuning is always part of the VST instrument. Cakewalk can transpose midi but only by standard steps. Just Google search how to change tuning of the vst

Just did it again, Opened Basic Template, colored a few things, inserted SI Bass. Used Save As and browsed to the Template folder and saved as " No Busses". Still get the screenshot as the icon. So might be they changed something in the new release. Having the screens shot might be a good idea and obviously one could figure a way to include a easily identified icon in the screenshot too.

I worked with a horn Section a few times. 10 piece R&B band. They told me it's pretty easy if you know your scales.
-
So then I did this again and now what I get what seems to be a screen shot of the project. I did it twice and then on a different computer. This was also save as a CWP first and then not saving as a CWP first. didn't make a difference. I used different names too. Both machines are up to date.

@Kurre Song Template. I have no clue how the guitar got there but it sure looks nice! This is the first time I stored a template in the proper folder. In the past I store them on my data drive in a folder I made. I was making a tutorial on using templates when I did this.
-
To add to the weirdness. I opened the Basic template. I added a few tracks and busses. I made a few basic changes and then used “save as” , re named it and saved it as A CWP file. I then out of boredom decided to also save it as a template file. So I used save as again, browsed to the template folder, and saved as a CWT file. It shows in my start screen under templates and I don’t know how this happened, but it uses a picture of a guitar? Cool. Bet I can’t do it this again.

The kind of music I mix it’s really only the guitar tracks that will be mono and panned. Everything else is either stereo ( VST) or dead centre. ( vocals, Bass) So I guess it’s never been an issue for me. But I like the idea of it NOT boosting when panned than it boosting +3.

ya this statement is a mystery! It implies a second track but was that a midi track? And in what way did the functionality work if it didn’t create any midi ??

https://getintopc.site/applied-acoustics-systems-string-studio-vs-2-vst-free-download/ If this is the plug in just re download and install. Your making a fuss over nothing. This is not a Cakewalk issue.

Ok. but as I said you don’t need a license which was stated above.

Can't import audio to cakewalk. How to fix this? Thx
John Vere replied to Nipat Kalakan's question in Q&A
Easy way is open the browser and drag and drop the file to an empty space in the track pane. This will create an audio track. -
The conversation of a monophonic audio track, example bass, can be done with Cakewalk. You do not need a Melodyne license, it’s built in to the core program. You drag the audio track to a midi track or a Simple Instrument track. If the audio track is polyphonic, as in guitar chords, then you need a version of Melodyne that supports chords. At least I think this works with drag and drop. It might be a different process for chords. If what you are looking for is a full song converted to midi , good luck. There is software that claims to do this but I’ve never heard of any good results unless the song is super basic

Independent outputs for each channel / instrument in Cakewalk
John Vere replied to Nio Sebez's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Ok sorry I missed that point on my phone some of your posts are in Spanish. So I guess my issues with Cakewalk would not matter in a rehearsal space where you have time and can leave it all hooked up. So what you need will be an audio interface with lots of outputs. Possibly a combination mixer and interface would be perfect. The good ones are not cheap and some have issues working well with cakewalk I just looked and the Focusrite 18i20 has 10 outputs but $800 but then there’s this https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UMC1820--behringer-u-phoria-umc1820-usb-audio-interface -
Independent outputs for each channel / instrument in Cakewalk
John Vere replied to Nio Sebez's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Like I say I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I make all my backing tracks in Cakewalk and those projects which is Over 200 songs, are super easy to remix any way I need them to be. My stereo mixes sound great in any venue. Do DJ’s use different versions of hit recordings in different venues? And as said above, the punters couldn’t tell the difference anyway. I have mostly played as both a duo and Single. When I play with a keyboard player I simply use the same songs and mute the keyboard buss in the project before I export. You can simply have a collection of tracks with different mixes for different band configurations. And I use Wave. Why use MP3? Most important part of using backing tracks is the player! Cakewalk is too slow between songs. I can start the next song exactly when I want to with my set up. I use USB foot switch. I can advance to the next song while the last one is not even finished. I can skip a song in a second. I can jump anywhere on my set list using my feet. On the other topic of using a bunch of amps instead of a PA. Bands that do that often have a terrible sound and very uneven balance. It can work if done with high quality gear and a roaming sound person. But it seems more often these bands use cheap underpowered practice amps therefore the bad quality -
I what you are trying to do is play along with a midi track while sight reading the midi tracks staff view then it’s very simple. Copy the track to a new midi track. Transpose the new track and set it’s output to the synth you were using Now mute the track you are sight reading.

I saw my mistake and corrected it while you answered I thought they said +9
-
The Alto sax is a Eb instrument. When you play a C note it will be the Eb on a piano or guitar. So all you need to do is take any midi backing tracks and transpose them +3 ( or -9) semi tones. Now you can play along in tune. Apparently Cakewalks staff View is a weak point. Not the easiest way to make music with Cakewalk

If your going to ask then post a link to the video.

Transition from Audacity to Cakewalk questions
John Vere replied to Em Erogork's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
A DAW like Cakewalk is really way overkill for what you are doing. What you need is a Wave editor but with multi track capabilities. Most don’t have multi track capabilities Audacity and Wave lab are the only 2 I can think of. A DAW won’t have a timer function and because they record larger files there is a possible time limit. Wave editors let you record to MP3 so files can be small. But why not keep using Audacity? If they screw it up down the road don’t upgrade. -
Independent outputs for each channel / instrument in Cakewalk
John Vere replied to Nio Sebez's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Hi. There’s a few options. I have used backing tracks since 1984. We started with using midi and sound modules. Lots of cables to hook up. I later transferred all my tracks as stereo recordings to Mini Disk. Next was a laptop using Win Amp for playback. I’ve been using this for last 20 years. I just made a well balanced mix in stereo and it always works great. We also sometimes split the bass into left channel and the drums and keyboard into right. I would run the bass channel direct to a bass amp and the drums and keyboard to the pa. The other option of using Cakewalk for your playback is much more complicated but many people do this. You will need a audio interface with as many outputs as you plan on needing. My problem with using Cakewalk is it was to slow changing between songs. Something always screwed up. Also your back to a complicated cables etc setting up. My system I just plug a mini jack into the laptop and to a stereo input on the mixer. I also use a USB foot switch to start and stop the music
