  1. Thanks Glenn, I started this project from a previous project. It apparently had more than one instance of TTS-1 as there are several in the pull-down menu to select for output. TTS-1 1, TTS-1 2, TTS-1 3, TTS-1 4. But, only one of them work as I tried to output to them all. The only one that works is the 1st instance TTS-1 1. I think the others may have been deleted, but still show up in the pull-down menus? You're right the the 3 midi tracks are tied to the same instance of the TTS-1. I will try your suggestion, and I believe I have done that before, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work last night. I tried for hours. The problem is that all 3 midi tracks get frozen. Mutting 2 of them does give me the one track of strings only. But, in order to freeze the next midi track I have to unfreeze the Celesta and then it unfreeze all 3 again. Thank you for your suggestion. I will try it again this morning ?. Do you know if there is a way to separate the 3 midi tracks to be independent. I inserted a new soft synth TTS--1 with 4 multiple outputs thinking I could send my midi tracks to it, but couldn't get the midi tracks to output to any of the 4 tracks. Thank you kindly! Frank
  2. I have 3 midi tracks Strings, Celesta, and Piano. I want to bounce each of them to separate audio tracks for further mixing. I selected the string midi track an and froze it. No problem it made an audio file of just the strings on a new track. The problem is the other 2 midi tracks. They freeze along with the strings. If I hit unfreeze on the celesta and/or the piano it unfreezes the Strings. It's like they are all tied together. I also tried to use the track folder, but it says no audio is selected to bounce. I thought I could bounce midi files in the Track folder. Any help is much appreciated.
  3. I have almost always had a problem when punching in a keyboard track. It usually starts late even though the punch area is correct. Sometimes it works, but not too often. I have tried different methods like playing along with the tracks even before the punch in area, but that doesn't work. I thought maybe stepping on the sustain pedal may be the answer. I usually do a work around by putting the notes in the missed area, but it is a pain as you can imagine. Does anyone else have a problem with this? If so is there a solution. Thanks again for all of your help from this forum. Frank
  4. I adjust the volume on the TTA-1 to about 100 on channel 1 and 3. But, as soon as I start the song it jumps back up to 127. I had brought it up to 127 so I could clearly hear what I was playing, but now I need to mix it into a more realistic level of around 100. But, it jumps back up to 127 as soon as I start playback. I have search on the module to see if there is an automation function, but I can't find one if there is one or you can advise me on how to defeat this from jumping back up, any help on this is much appreciated. Thanks Frank
  5. Hi John, Thank you for the tip. After I posted I noticed that the numbers show up after the track is frozen. I was trying to figure out what I had played on a track and I wanted to see the note names instead of the numbers. So I had unfroze the track and the names came back. After I got you tip I tried the method you suggested, by right clicking on the piano on the midi track and the frozen track. The numbers switched to the piano with the names, but then my program is not working as it is waiting for me to select my option in a hidden box. Everything I click on just dings without any response. The only way out was to hit Control/Alt/delete which then brings up the task manager and I can see the dialog box. I am still a bit confused, but I can work with it. Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.
  6. My piano roll is showing numbers instead of the names of notes. It was showing the names which was great as I could easily see if I had made a mistake or if I wanted to go back and figure out what I had played. Then I must of hit something as it is now showing numbers instead of the names. I tried searching for the solution for this for about an hour and I haven't been able to figure it out. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you
  7. I think I have it working. A few more tests to be sure! I will let you know. Thanks
  8. Hi John, Thank you for the video. I followed the instructions exactly. It worked great on a new project, but for some reason I can't get my previous projects that always worked before to play from out of the Yamaha Keyboard. I am still trying to figure it out. I think I am almost there. I will keep you posted. Thank you for your help and everyone's help in the forum. I learned a lot of other tips from this video. I will go to Youtube and subscribe. Frank
  9. Hi Giorgio, yes I had it set to the Portable Grand, but forgot to take the screen capture when it was set to the Portable Grand, sorry for the confusion. It doesn't work under Portable Grand either. Thanks
  10. Good Morning David, Thank you for the detailed explanation and for taking the time to check out the Yamaha YPG-365 manual. I did friend the local setting and the PCI setting earlier, but I am not sure which settings they should be on. I tried local on and off, and I tired PC Mode in the PCI and PC2 mode, but none of that worked either so I now set them back to "Local Off", and "PC Mode to Off." I believe I have the section under midi in the prefaces set correctly, and I tried several options with it, but still it doesn't work. It is set to ECHO SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE, PORTABLE GRARND1, and ALWAYECHO CURRENT MIDE TRACK. I toggled each of the settings to see if it would work, but none of them produced sound back to the Yamaha. The Cakewalk TT1 works find though. Here is a screen shot. thank you for your help. I must still be doing something stupid somewhere. I am usually pretty good with the help of the forum in figuring things out. So far I am still stuck. But, I will keep trying.
  11. Hi Greg, I think I have mine set up this way. Here is a screen capture. But, still not working for me. Thank you for the suggestion. I am still looking for the problem. Al of the suggestions are helping. It is much appreciated.
  12. Hello and thank you for your input, My keyboard is a Yamaha YPG-635. I don't see any place to turn off "Local on/off. I will check deeper into it.
  13. Hi David, Thank you for your feedback! My Keyboard is a Yamaha YPG-635. I don't think I have ever seen it indicate Midi activity so I guess it has no indicator light. The output monitors directly from the keyboard through the speakers when I set the output in cakewalk on the midi channel to Yamaha Grand Piano 1. I am not having any luck so far. Frank
  14. Hi Glorgio, Thank you for your input. It is connected via USB.. I looked under Edit/Preferences/Midi, but I don't see the midi output to activate it. I'm I looking in the wrong place? Frank
  15. I am able to record midi to a midi track and play it back through the Cakewalk TTS fine form my Yamaha keyboard, but I used to be able to select the Yamaha Piano output and play it back to the keyboard. For some reason I can no longer get the sound on the keyboard when playing back. I have tried for hours and finally I need help. I have used this before many times as I can here the playback much better going back to the keyboard when tracking. Once I know I have what I want then I select the Cakewalk TTS for mixing. Maybe I am not setting the insert soft synth correctly? IDK Any help is much appreciated. Thank You
  16. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all on this. I just started working again on projects. I set the default to the realtek hi definition as suggested, but the problem still persist. When I try to set the buffer size to a higher number it usually crashes the computer, and I get a Windows stopcode. Any other suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.
  17. I am dubbing all of my old tapes from 60 years to my computer. I just came across a tape where the speed is too fast. It sounds like chipmunks. I can't slow my tape deck to the next lowest speed. I went ahead and recorded the tape as I can tell there are things on there that I'd like to save before I throw away all of these tapes. Is there a way in Cakewalk to slow down these recordings in Cakewalk to about half of what is playing so that it is the right speed? Thank you
  18. Thank you for that information! I can't wait to get back into my studio to try out the suggestions. I am using ASIO. It will be around Aug10th before I can see the results. I will be sure to post the results.
  19. Thank you so much for the info on the Firestudio. I am away from home for another 4 weeks so I won't be able to try it until them. I am anxious to see how I have it set up. I think that maybe I do have FS set up as the default. I am wondering if you also got the blue screen of death at times, and if so did it go away when you changed the default. I am using Windows on a powerful Xeon Processor Machine. I had wondered if being a Xeon had anything to do with it. Thank you
  20. I am wondering if anyone could offer suggestions on why my Universal control for the Firestudio by Personus changes the buffer size. I have had this problem a long time. I have been dealing with it by just setting it back, but sometimes it crashes. For instance, I may have it at at higher number like 512, 1024, or even 2048 at 44.1Khz, in the normal mode, and it may play fine for a while, but then switch to a lower number like 128 or 256 where I start hearing clicks and pops. If i move it back it will sometimes crash the program or even the entire computer where I get a blue screen of death. I think part of the problem is that maybe I don't know exactly how it works or how to set it up correctly. I am always so busy recording or producing something that I haven't taken the time to deal with this. Any help is much appreciated. Thank You
  21. John, thank you for the response. So by render you mean "bonce to clip" right? And then, if I need to change something in the clip in Melodyne is there a way to go back and edit.
  22. Is there something I can do to stop Melodyne from switching tracks and moving away from the clip I am working on when I stop the transport. Let me explain. I click on the clip I am working on. Make adjustments or whatever. Hit play and when I stop the transport it switches to another track instead of staying on the track I was working on. It does return to the begin point, but it is no longer on the correct track. Thanks
