Mix multiple devices

kla

Question

This is very first time of my experience of DAW, so maybe this is too basic question.

I want to mix inputs/outputs from multiple devices.

I have enabled WASAPI shared mode.

Once I select any input or output driver in preferences > devices, all other drivers which belong to other device is disabled.

For instance, I have three input devices: audio interface, USB mic, and virtual cable(VB-cable).

If I select any input of audio interface, I cannot select USB mic and VB-cable.

How can I select multiple input drivers from multiple devices?

You need to realize a lot of those devices don’t support WASAPI mode.
You might see them if you switch to MME mode which is a terrible driver so don’t even go there.
This is why an audio interface is unavoidable for recording audio with Cakewalk. You waisted money on a bunch of incompatible devices that rarely work with Cakewalk.
If your audio interface doesn’t have enough inputs and outputs then you waisted money on that by not purchasing one that does.
USB mikes are for Podcasts.
They are useless for home studio purposes. No XLR.
