Audeze are well-known for their range of high-end mixing headphones, but they also manufacture the Maxwell and LCD-GX, a pair of headsets aimed at the gaming market. Now, with the beta release of a significant firmware update, the Maxwell has gained Head Tracking support that will introduce compatibility with the Dolby Atmos Renderer application, allowing it to be put to work on immersive mixing projects.

The new firmware is compatible with all Maxwell headsets. Currently, The Head Tracking feature on Windows systems is only available when playing back a master file using Dolby Atmos Renderer; macOS users are able to take advantage of the feature whilst mixing from a DAW into, or playing back a master file from, Dolby Atmos Renderer.

The beta version of the new firmware is available now. Instructions on how to set up the new feature can be found via the link below.
