Cakewalk freezes on scan

Phil Methot

Question

Hello to all,

When I do a scan for VSTs, cakewalk freezes on opengl32sw.dll

I have searched for this .dll file to temporarily delete it to see if that would help, however,  I searched in all the folders that I have in my scan path, and I can't find this .dll file anywhere.  When I do a general search query, it says it doesn't exist.

Is the problem that Cakewalk is looking for a file that doesn't exist, or is something else going on?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Phil

The VST scanner recursively traverses paths defined in CbB attempting to load every dll file it encounters, except in the spec'd VST3 folders where only files with a vst3 extension are loaded.

Chances are the scan path contains folders it shouldn't.

Post a image of the VST Setting screen (link above) if you need help setting up the scan path.

This preference screen also provides a "Generate Scan Log" option which may help.

Enable "Scan in Sandbox" if it is not already.

Always run scans from preferences.
