Improve the sound of the electric bass to hear it better on mobile phones

Recommended Posts

Hello friends from Spain.

I would like to ask you a question related to the equalization of the electric bass.

I usually use Ezbass, and I have noticed that when I listen to my basses on a cell phone, mine are barely audible compared to the professionals, they are louder and clearer.

I guess it has to do with equalization. Do you know any easy trick to fix this? It seems silly, but many people only listen to the songs on their cell phone, not from good speakers, at least the first time.

I put 2 samples as an example.

I think some ways to make the bass heard are eq as you suggest, boosting some of the higher frequencies, and adding saturation or distortion.

Bluetoothed to cans or my bose speakers. Both hype the bass, but sound better than the system in my Caravan.

I don't either, but so many people do. Even worse is that people will listen through one half of a set of crappy earbuds.

HI:)

On small speakers it's not possible to hear frequencies under 100 Hz for example.

So instead of rasing 80 Hz (Key of E) on the Bass, use the first, second and third Overtone in the mix.

160, 240 and 320 Hertz, depends on the Key the song is, so in "G" the frequencies are around 100, 150 and 200 Hz.

(Just download a frequency table, 1.Overtone x2, 2. x2,5, 3. x4)

Try it out;)

Greetz,

Bassman.

Bass Mint is less refined in this aspect, but with some additional options.

'preferred' results are somewhat dependent on the style of music and target playback systems/devices.

No one really wants to, but every now and then it is the only option in a situation.  I have seen opportunities acted upon because a person was able to play a song on the spot
