Hidden midi data in a midi track?

Ola Bengtsson

Question

Hi users of Cakewalk by BandLab

Please could someone help me to understand what am I doing wrong.

I want to have a separate miditrack with some midi data for controlling my lights, my mixer and so on,

I have seen that if I by mistake touch and move the volume fader on the miditrack it will create a volume control change (CC7) message in the track somewhere and I can not find it and delete it. It is not showing in the Event list, but it still there.

What is the MIDI track routed to, if anything?
Did you start off with an empty project and add only 1 MIDI track? Nothing else?

The track does have a CC7 automation track. Always there. Expand the height of the track pane and click on the orange highlighted zigzag.

Then you will see the yellow line of the controller.
But unless you edit the line with the mouse, or record automation, just sits at the default level 101.

And it is in the event list, unless you have controller events filtered out.

Click on the View drop-down:

You can choose which events you do/don't want to see.

Hi Nigel

Nice that you answer

Yes I start with empty project

And I can see all other events (If I make some)

And they disappear when I use delete special

But!!!!

If I move volume fader (by mistake and even move it back to 101) a CC 7 event will be stuck in the track, but I can not see it and I can not delete it

I have record the data on other daw when I play the track and t is there

I dont want that event in the track!

How can I make sure that the track is clear from events?
