Only if you like going down the street to fetch some coffee while a DAW is doing a plugin scan.

With 2300+ plugins being scanned (after the initial reinstall scan of course) I'm usually looking at all of 30-45 seconds on a first boot of the DAW for the day. After that, on the same day, about 15-20 seconds. Painless.

    FWIW I don't drink coffee.

Also, is PACE in any way intrusive towards system/network resources?

Some say yes, some (like me) day no.

Probably depens upon the myriad of variables on *your*  system.

Your question is kind of like asking if you should fly the Boeing before or after the software fix.  In this case, the fix is already applied in CWBL and it works very very well.

    Fly on, Brother!

FYI Cakewalk is one word and BandLab is one word. A typical acronym for them would be CB but in this case the product is almost always referred to as  "Cakewalk by BandLab" hence 99.999999999992% of users call it CbB. 🤣👍

Ohm Dear, I'm shocked that this thread may me about to enter into a terminal decline. It hertz me to think Watt James would make of it all. All these puns are quite revolting but I'm trying not to be phased by them.

    That's funny I tesla.

I'm off to listen to AC/DC.

I use the FaderPort 8, which replaced an Artist Series controller, which in turn replaced the V-Studio controller because it had too big a footprint for my setup. IIRC there was only one feature I found that wasn't in the documentation Mark refers to, but I can't recall what it is offhand. If you just want mixing, panning, scrolling, transport, etc., the FaderPort 8 or 16 works fine.

Is there a new driver for the 8/16 or does it run off the existing driver for the Faderport classic?
