^^^ This.
AFAIK there are only a couple manufacturers of 2" tape remaining. Vintage King is selling reels for $345.
That's about 3 1TB SSDs today.
Much more bang for the buck I'd say.

The C414 was on Johnny's desk for years.
My modest vocal mic cabinet includes:
C414
AEA R84
AKG The Tube
My studio drum mics are:
2x SM57 (top and bottom snare)
D112 MKII (kick out)
Sennheiser e-602-II (Kick In)
4x Sennheiser e-604 (toms)
2x Sennheiser e-614 (overheads)
I also have 2x MCA SP-1

U67 Collectors Edition is $7KUSD at Sweetwater.
Non Collectors Edition is $3.6KUSD.
Pass.

I still own my C414 (modded to transformeless) form 1984-85ish.

I dreamed about such an acquisition in my youth.
Now I have (most of) that power in a DAW. What a wonderful world we live in.

I, too, have the FaderPort16, and though I have it working, I find that I cannot use it.
Not for any technical reason, but because both cats immediately upon seeing it getting trotted out, want to plant their big furry behinds right on top of it, because it is something newly moved about, and because they know I am trying to accomplish something - and I am apparently unauthorized by them to be at all productive.
Sigh.....It LOOKS nice though, maybe if I distract them with some plastic milk rings...

Works well with CBb.
Mackie control for the first 8 channels and Mackie control XT for the second 8.
Yup, already got it working.
-
So I'm stuck with it. That's OK. I've spent more on dinner and a movie.

I got my Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio back in the dark days of SPlat.
I wonder if I can transfer the license (for free) and sell the product (for say $50)?

now many of us are slowly but surely approaching 60.
Oh to be 6 years younger again.
How many more plugins I'd own is mind boggling.

Was there anything in it that did work properly prior to this update?
I've been using it since it came out. Never had any problems, but I'm a simpleton.

Got it working in all DAWs now. CbB & Reaper use the same mode (i.e. MCU Sonar) and SO4P and Mixbus 32-C use the same mode (i.e. Studio One).

Got it working in CbB. Yay!
Now to get it working in Reaper.
