Not much excuse there. You have CbB?  No? Why not? Are you a weiner head monkey?

It's not about making 'excuses', it's about how Studio One's workflow now suits me better than CbB.

Using CbB is like having a large birthday gathering for a grandchild and having my ex there. It's ok in small doses but not as an everyday thing.

  2. I like that it's still there when I need it for collaborations. By that I mean I typically make CbB tracking shell with tempo & markers delivered with stem exports for the collaborator.

For my Studio One collaborators I just send the entire project (typically sans 3rd party FXs).

If I don't have Money for that Ticket To Ride, I can always Drive My Car, it takes me Here, There and Everywhere, but it is a Long And Winding Road from here and over by Penny Lane I think.

I don’t have any “streaming” libraries either, but the m.2 loads Superior Drummer pretty darn fast. Most of my libraries are on it, but when I added “Legacy of Rock” I had to move a few things.
But my VSTi collection certainly pales when compared to the Lord of Am.
IF you have a few that are slow to load and are frequently used, I think the m.2 would be a plus. Haven’t checked prices lately, it’s all a balancing act.

I guess I've never been frustrated by library load times. One man's ceiling and all that....

I've come really close in the past. LSS it was a song written in a specific style for an artist that died. There was supposed to be a film about his life and death. The contract was on the table but the record company got sued by the guys estate to stop production and it all went in to the garbage. But I got close. I'll always be proud that some big wig in NYC heard my music and wanted it for a movie. I would have had nothing to do with recording it but still I wrote it.

There's some guys here who make a living off music. Hopefully one day they'll have some.kind of hit and won't have to worry and stress over money more.

Back in the 80s I had a song selected as a backup for a movie. Backup in the sense that the author of actual song chosen was in a battle over *not* changing her lyrics. The person I spoke with, in person, asked if I was agreeable to changing anything about the song if the director requested it. Without skipping a beat, I immediately replied "yes, of course".

Eventually the author caved and of course my song was not used.

    Here is the song:
