  1. Hi Ronald and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

I would reference the product manual on this one.  My USB controller has two (virtual) MIDI inputs and three outputs each serving a different purpose.

    Kind regards,

  2. Hi Dean and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.  I would also suggest that you check that the sample rate and bit depth in Cakewalk [Edit | Preferences | Driver Settings] matches your sound cards sample rate and bit depth.  This can also cause noisy playback.

  3. Hi Michael,

You can simply Export your project to audio in various formats.  All you need to know is here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.52.html

  4. Hi Sonarman,

You only have to move the Now Time marker to the desired location (or SMPTE time) and then press the M key on your PC keyboard.  That will bring up the Marker properties dialog where you can enter the Marker's name, then click on "Lock to SMPTE..." and also set the exact time where the Marker will be placed.

  5. Hi Koyaanis and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

Are you playing your MIDI through a VSTi soft synth?  Is Input Echo on?  Are you using a single MIDI track, MIDI and Audio track or an Instrument track?  Is the output set to your Master Bus?  And, is your Master Bus output set to your ASIO output?

As long as your speakers are connected to the front outputs on your PC, your settings look correct (although, it appears you're not using the latest version of Cakewalk).

    Kind regards,

Clicking and keeping the left click button down while dragging just changes the size  of the rectangle.  The cursor/arrow/pointer  does not change to anything else.

Or do you mean to use your method in combination  with the awkwark (1) Ctrl + Click then (2) Release Ctrl + Move process that David explained?

Also, how do you get the snap function working like it used to?

    Thanks.

After you have made your selection, hold down the Shift key and click exactly on a note in the selection and drag your selection.  You will see your pointer turns into the move tool.

Release the click when the selection is complete, and then click again to move. Works as advertised, and is documented in the Ref. Guide, except that it isn't mentioned that you need to hold Shift to move a selection.

Hold down the Shift key is for moving a selection of notes as desired in the OP.  Without the Shift key, you can only move a single note where I am.

I select notes and then use move tools to move the notes I selected. But I cannot move them. No work!

Does somebody know how to move the notes?

Do not use the move tool.  Use the select tool by clicking and dragging.  You will see the pointer turns into the move tool as you are dragging.  To move a selection of notes, hold down the Shift key when clicking and dragging.

Let us know if that works for you.

  8. My guess is that either you have your project set with a Workplace that does not include the Synth Rack or you saved your project with a Screenset that does not include the Synth Rack.  In that case, I would suggest that you save a screenset with the Synth Rack open before saving your project.

  9. Hi Mark and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

It sounds like you are using an internal sound card, e.g. soundblaster.  Unfortnuately, internal sound cards at this level (meaning quality) do not work well when working with CbB (Cakewalk by BandLab).  Please let us know more about your system (DAW) setup.  For instance, are you using a desktop or laptop, what type of sound card/audio interface are you using, what driver mode are you using, how is your headset connected to your PC.

    Kind regards,

  10. Just one thing to check when it comes to crackles and pops, does the sample rate and bit depth match between CbB and your Saffire?  If so, just ignore my question (apologies).

  11. There is a simple way to save the MIDI from a track.  Just as scook suggested dragging it to the desktop, you could do the same to the USB flash drive.  (If the MIDI is separate clips, select the track and Bounce to Clip(s) so that all the MIDI is consolidated.)  Using the Media Browser, navigate to your flash drive and simply drag and drop the MIDI from the track in/onto the flash drive.
