Barry - this is a cool song. I particularly like what's going on in the chorus sections.
Interesting lyrics and guitar parts too.
My only comments are with the interaction between the bass guitar and the kick drum.
You might consider a little complimentary EQ , to give them both their own space.
Also, and this is more picky, the bass and kick seem a little out of sync on some of the unison parts. If no one else mentions this, it's probably just me. 😏

Hi Eric - I am back. I cut out a bunch of the bass notes and really dialed back the Renaissance Bass, and I think I am overjoyed - I have to check it on different speakers, but your suggestion has made the song so much better. It opens up the snare and actually makes the bass better by eliminating some notes during the verses.

Hey Steve -
Cool! I'm interested in hearing the new mix. Is it available?

Interesting tune! I really like the melody and the guitar parts.
On the whole, I think the mix is good.
Here's a few minor suggestions.
The bass line could be tweaked to let the snare have a little more space. The easiest way to do this is to retrack the bass part and
don't play a bass note right when the snare is struck or to play that particular bass note quieter.
When the piano and keys are going at the same time - notch out (EQ) some space in the piano track to let the vocals shine through a bit more.
Again minor points, I am digging the tune!

. Maybe the voc track could be raised a bit here (just my opinion) but you guys did a great job! Liking it a lot.
-BjornThanks Bjorn - funny that you mention the vocal track volume. That was the trickiest challenge. Some thought it was too loud and others too quiet.🤣

Thanks Larry - I'm super lucky to have a good friend that plays pedal steel and lead guitar.

Excellent revision of one of my all time favorite boogie tunes that I almost completely forgot about. Much thanks & respect for doing such a fine job of dusting the cobwebs from my brain pan. 😍
Thanks Steev - It's such a fun song to play too. Always brings a smile to my face 😀

Wow! This is an extremely powerful song. They lyrics and the instrumentation really set the tone. The sparse arrangement
suits the mood perfectly. Well done and so original!

I think this song has noticeably improved with every version! Way to go!
You might try and make sure the piano isn't masking the guitar melody.
You could try some complimentary EQing on both tracks: example - slightly boost desireble frequency on the guitar and cut these same frequencies
on the keys...or select a different timbre or patch for the keys (maybe a softer DX7 type tone or..... You get the idea, just some sound that compliments and doesn't compete for the same space.
I would personally add some more oomph to the kick drum too - totally subjective but might be worth a try.
You have written a nice tune with a catchy melody. Way to go!

Hey Nio - very nicely done! Great guitar tones and vocals. Nice production too!
I'm curious about the title. I am studying Spanish on Duolingo and
I roughly think "Yo no me la voy a poner" literally translates to "I'm not going to wear"
I'm guessing that the real meaning is different. Can you please provide the real translation? 😀

Hey Jack - thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the input too, but not completely sure of the term "rides" - do you mean when I'm riding the fader?

Thanks for listening!

This was a really fun song to put together. I enlisted the help of my brother, Mark Parsons, on drums and friend, Peter Morgan on lead guitar and pedal steel.
I'm doing the rest.
Any feedback on production, mixing, etc, is encouraged!

Just wanted to chime in that CA-2A is one of my favorite compressors.
It's almost always my first choice when looking to tame dynamics on a vocal or instrument track.
I love the simplicity and the results.

Hey Bat - I've always enjoyed your tunes, but this one is far and away my new favorite. All the parts fit together so well, with a really nice tone
on the bass. The vocal lines are superb. Thanks for sharing!
