Is the electric piano real, or sampled?

Thanks!  It's a sampled electric piano from Toontracks.  I don't play keys - these are midi parts.

but i did play around with the bass tones some, since i posted this,

i have two parallel bass tracks, summed together, and on ONE of them, i put a waves J37 tape saturation effect, and this both fattened and slightly distorted the tone a bit, and brought that track up a bit, which fills out the bass more.

    Looking forward to hearing it!

Very nice. I love the guitar tone and vibe of the track, everything sounds really, really good. Nice job!

Wow!  Thank You.  I just had a chance to hear your tune "Original Songs" - very cool.  Great vocals!

  4. What a cool tune!  The harmony effect really works for this tune.  I will have to learn

more about it.  I also dig your selection of instrumentation and the mix.  It seems very dreamlike.

    Nice work.

  5. Another well crafted, well played tune.  -they always are.

This one reminded me of some of the bands I followed in my youth.

    Well done!

Minor comment - I think the bass sounds a little to antiseptic (for my tastes in this genre)

    Think: Gary Thain 🙃

  6. Hey All -

I don't ever remember running into this.

I recorded three separate guitar tracks all using an Amplitube plugin to get

that Fender tube amp sound - all worked great.

I started a separate unrelated track, with no plugin inserted.  And... the signal is definitely being routed

through the amplitube plugin.  I double and triple checked that this new track had no plugins and no

sends.  I rebooted the software, computer and the interface,  No changes.  I then turned off and on the amplitube plugins

in each track and the new track is no longer being routed through the amplitube plugin.  So - all good.  But still confused.

Any ideas, as to what is\was going on?

    -Eric

  7. I really enjoying recording with a ribbon mic.  I have a Cascade Fathead.  I use it on guitar amps and woodwinds.

The one thing I found I needed with a ribbon mic was more signal gain.  My Focusrite Scarlett didn't really have enough gain

for this mic.  I ended up buying a Cloudlifter that is powered by phantom power.  This did the trick for me.

  8. Nice tune.  I really like how you transition through the various instruments.  Great supportive bass line too!

Hope you post some more in this genre.

  9. I enjoyed listening to your tune.  It's got a great vibe to it and the instrumental and vocal tracks are performed well.

I have a few , very subjective, suggestions.  The mix feels quite static, which is fine, but the song structure

could benefit  from a more active approach: some panning changes,  variation of effects (delay, eq) .

I also think a little bump in the low end would give the tune a little more power (I'm a bass player) 😀

Bottom line: it's a cool tune done well!  Keep it up and submit more tunes please.

  10. Hey Anders

This is an excellent version of a classic tune.  You nailed the feel, which is no easy task.

The vocals are quite pleasing.  The singer did his own thing and it works so well.

Did you program the drums?  If so, nice job.

Way to go!  Really enjoyed it.
