Thanks - yes it's an old post but only one I could find referencing the issue. I'll try downloading Portal again and see whether MWB and Norton flag it up again. A bit worrying that both picked it up

Thanks Brian. I had UVI portal & Workstation installed on my old PC and don't recall any issues when I downloaded them. I'll have another look today. Maybe there's an alternative download path to download from 

Installing all the software managers on my new PC and got a worrying report from Malwarebytes as in title (also came up as an issue in the trial version of Norton I have installed. Has anyone else had the same problem? 

Only reference to it I have found is the link below

Seems to be a long term issue but perhaps nothing to worry about?

I don't wish to be harsh but you do need to understand the difference between VST audio effects and VST virtual instruments. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I have had no problems with Kontakt.

Try a less antagonistic approach and I'm sure you will find people willing to talk you through it. We are all friends here and using derogatory terms is not appropriate.

As mentioned above have a look at the user manuals for Kontakt. 

I know I know 🙂 Never had that problem with Waves before so thought it may be something at their end - I'll remember not to post until I've rebooted next time. 🙂  Just been going through all the different software licensing / deactivation / activation stuff - this is why I have put off upgrading for so long!

As part of my moving across to a new PC I'm trying to uninstall my Waves licences - Waves Central wanted an update so clicked but after downloading nothing happened. Tried downloading directly from their website and again the downloaded exe file did nothing. Anyone had the same issues? 

ooh this new series could be very interesting - hopefully will get some vocals & folk instruments from the Strezov stable

I'm about to move to a new PC and there is no way I am reinstalling the 1,000 + (mainly free!) plugins I have acquired (though that figure is a Cakewalk count so is made up of VST 3s and 32 bit VSts as well as 64 bit) I spend hours going through instrument presets only to come up with no music at the end of it so a bit of discipline is well overdue!

That is what I am planning to do when my new PC arrives where I can - it will also make me prune my VST count which is at around 1,000 - though that includes 32 bit and VST3 duplicates
