    Was wondering the same Fleer.

I already have L'Otary and agree with Piotr's comments re the King's Mics (but already have it as part of T-RackS 5 Total Studio MAX 2) so I am leaning towards Slick EQ like musical.

    ZincT, rather Mic Room ;)

I don't like King's Mics (the weakest plugin from Waves AR, in fact one of weakest of their plugin ever imho ;)

  2. Excellent deals and Metro delay free as bonus :)

If anybody has only one  mic or not many of different kind I would recommend to take a look at T-Racks Mic room. Demo and check.

While those simulations didn't give exact tone target mic it would extend in interesting way flavors of sounds.

For instance having only sm57 it is possible to simulate sounds for some popular ribbon or condenser mics.  Not expecting too much it is giving very interesting options to have for recording. It is different approach than from Slate soft as it is basing on source from some popular models not dedicated prosperity hardware.

For such price I believe it is no brainer :)

Here are info with supported model list:

Oddly, VST3 Presets many times do not have a drop down a list.  With the VST loaded, you select
the preset area, and it will say "Load Preset", which you select, and then you pick from the list there.
Many VST3 plugins seem to suffer from this malady!

True. But hard to say what is the source of the problem. Bad implementation of menu of VST3 plugin container or plugin itself. Anyway sadly PA did nothing to fix it. Some manufacturers use its own presets system not relying on VST3 container and it is kind of workaround if it is fault at DAW level.

I am always installing only VST2 version of PA plugins because of this issue.

For instance Audiffex inValve compressor is using VST3 container presets option and it is working fine. Like below so it would suggests it is not DAW preventing plugin manufacturers to implement it well :(

    Anyone have the ENGL E646?

I do have Rockrack V3, but it doesn't get much (if any) use....is this any better?

I have E646 VS and like it the most of all PA amps for metalo-rockish fun.  With different cabs it gives many flavours.

However it suffers from typical  PA amps workflow killers like:  long combo list of cabinets to pick and cab bypass  at the end, no input meter (changing input volume drastically change tone), better to install VST2 as in VST3 version of plugin preset menu not working (reported 1-2 years to PA but seems totally ignored).

My understanding is that TH-U should've been an update rather than an upgrade and not quite worth the 'upgrade' price. Is that a fair understanding?

Sorry, edited as I probably misunderstood. You mean upgrade from TH-U slate edition to TH-U full, not TH3->TH-U, right?

Agree with Larry on this one. The Stealth is really good and clean.

However, this Lindell 254E is a really great sounding plugin. (I like all of Lindell's stuff because they sound really good.) It has character for sure. But it's the really good kind. Reminds me of Waves' Abbey Road stuff with the good sound.

Yep, Neve-like Lindell seems to be thought as coloring thing when pushed not transparent one .

I wonder if anyone uses Cakewalk's own Drum Replacer. When I tried it on a live drum kit, it gave me better results than other triggers, including Addictive Trigger.

Yep, it is interesting :) Thanks, Alisa, maybe next time I will give a try again for Cakewalk's tool.

Here's my take on those for those that wanna really hear and appreciate their sonic print :

    [...]

     1) 1176 : Tweak and fun on 808 based beat , where i show several type of compressions , the sidechain and how to use it as a color box without compression for saturation purposes thks to the GR limiter !

    2) Sta : Compression fun on the 808 beat as well as advanced sidechain tweak !

    3) The 65 : fun on the 808 beat , Glue master party !! punch and then we use it on boom bap beat where i show you the ice on the cake on this one , its ability to be driven hard thks to the limiter saturation !!

    4) Conclusions

Thanks, Zo, for your all your work to make our buy decisions easier ;)

I wonder what was going in your studio during preparing the video? :)

BTW, manual source option from VCA-65 is great to use with automation ;)

I'm going to audio school right now and we're using Trigger 2.
Anyone use  this or have anything else better to suggest?

I'm using it from time to time. While it looks like it is quite old it sounds great imho and gate is sometimes working surprisingly well. Lately I used it only for its gate as it was fastest and with better results than my gate plugins I tried for my application (live recording, lots of bleeds).

If you have XLN Audio AD2 you could also consider  Addictive Trigger. It is powerful thing and you can use samples from AD2 in it. Unfortunately in Slate you need buy separately samples for SD and Trigger :( But 'thanks' to it I never considered buying of Slate Drums

If so I hope there's an easy and reasonable backwards compatibility with AD2 content.

I believe they just have to. Otherwise for their AD2 customers it would be a choice to start with new AD3 thing or new competitors thing.

Compatibility and good upgrade path is what could give them best chances to keep their current users still with them. Even if AD3 would be not so great as SD3.

Resell value is catastrophic ... specially giving the fees ...

for exemple i want the pan q , i could buy the bundle and ressell vertigo ect others i have but who will buy those !?

Yep, they don't want to let for broader exchange between bundle owners.

But we can wait a little. I believe it is not the last idea for promo from PA ;)

"...no discounts will be given if you own some of the bundle-plugins already."

Not good for people like me, who already have lots of PA plugs  🙁

Also if many of the plugs are included in different packs getting 2 or more of them without further discounts looks silly. Isn't it? 🤔

    True.

But what is making me happy PA has definitely changed sale approach. First they did some really nice promos of excellent plugs in Waves price.

Now they are  selling bundles in great prices. I am very curious what will happen on April. It seems they are still looking for balance about selling (price/volume) and kind of testing different solutions.

Thanks Piotr, I'll check it out. Any other amp sim you'd recommend for brutal tones

I am not  an expert about ultimate guitar brutality so not really sure ;)

If you are asking about my preferences about PA amp sims for  more metal sounds it would be for sure E646 VS.

If any brand  hard to say, I have zylion of different simulations, but to be honest have some more used.  As expected for GAS addicted guitar lover :(

Often using THU & Amplitube4. BIAS AMP2 less frequently because of ultra annoying login prompt to TC which cannot be disabled and irritating me on every track I am trying to add it.  The rest of my armada are rare and random picked.

From my last shopping I like this thing: SS-11X from Mercurial. They have some quite nice sims (all available to demo).

If you have good IR loader and good IRs you could even give a try free amps like LePou. They are completely free so no risk if you change your mind about them ;)

I have the PRS SuperModels, Kazrog Thermionik, Kuassa Amplification Kreme, the Audio Assault Amps and GTR3.... Still I would like to go for it.... Should I go for it?

imho it is not worth of attention unless you have free voucher to use it. But because there are different tastes especially about guitar amp simulation (if you looked ever at threads here ;) I would recommend you to grab demo (14 days full functional) and test it by yourself.

And please pay attention about I/O input volume from your pickups and input type as it significantly affects a tone. Unfortunately PA guitar sims don't have input level meters for some weird reason.
