The following videos convinced me to add Scaler to my wish list a couple of months ago (they are quite long but stick with it)..

I already have a ton of plugins similar to this, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, but this seems to be really good for playing around with modal interchange - finding chords or sequences of chords that work to replace existing chords to spice up a sequence. So you can start with a nice but standard chord sequence and develop it into something more interesting. You don't need Scaler to do this but it makes it quicker to experiment with all of the different options.

This guy's approach to modal chord substitution is fantastic!!! Thanks for posting these videos.

That bx-BassDude sure sounds gude for a ‘60 Bassman.

Edith: but, but, y’already got the IK Fender Collection’s ‘59 Bassman.

Read my mind. I picked it up this morning after reading that amp sim thread. The price was right with my voucher.

Too expensive for me.  I'm not a keyboard player.  $200 is high. I can play with barely intermediate skill so I need a much cheaper vst around $75-100

F.w.w... the crossgrade is $149. If you have enough and can use jam points it can be had for $100.

  4. I  purchased S1 so all of my eggs weren't in one basket. I've been using Sonar since it came out. I didn't want to get left holding the proverbial bag and thought it would be wise to learn another daw. Turns out S1 fits my work flow nicely, the project page puts it over the top for me. I still use CBB from time to time but S1 is my main squeeze.

  5. Get Tape – Get Money Off – Get Reel

Working on music in a computer is awesome. We all love it. The convenience, the clarity, the speed from one idea to the next.

But sometimes we miss the rough, rich, creamy, human warmth of imperfection that analog gear brought.

That's why we made Tape – a plug-in which (via our industry-leading component modelling and physical modelling technologies) emulates not one but three vintage tape machines.

Glue your tracks together with the subtle saturation, compression, and tone-shaping inherent in the all-analog medium of Tape. And this weekend only, do it for just $39. That's a whopping 60% off!

Don't miss out – Tape just $39 today!

Offer valid until September 1st, 2019. May not be combined with any other offer.

Keep in mind you can only use the T-Racks version in T-Racks standalone if you use T-Racks that way. Getting both versions is most flexible.

This would be a deal breaker if it was true:

According to the Pick & Mix Group Buy page, Custom Shop purchases count.  If you've purchased a qualifying product (from the list on the Pick & Mix Group Buy page) and don't see your choices for free plugins under "Promotions" in your IK User Area, please let IK Support know at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support

They will be able to take a look directly at your account and figure out what's going on.

Thanks Peter. This is what I read after my purchase:

Yes, loyal users can use their JamPoints when purchasing from the IK Online Store. JamPoints can also be used in the Custom Shop providing the payment is not made with Gear Credits.

I made my payment with gear credits in the custom shop.

  8. I screwed up and bought an item from the custom shop with gear credits. I guess I should have read the fine print. You can purchase with gear credits in the online store but not in the custom shop. This excludes me from the group buy over $6.50....ouch! I'm out.
