  1. Personality I don't believe any software tool to be so important that you should waive away your right of owning a copy of it. While there are some advantages of subscription plans for things like film, the many disadvantages are starting to bleed into the real world. Things like BMW requiring you too pay subscription to have heated seats and steering wheel or Mercedes locking performance from their electric cars behind a subscription. These two examples are worse because the functionality is already in the product you paid money for, but the manufacturer won't let you use it unless you pay more.
  2. As a graphical artist myself, I find the amount of work required to create good art with those tools to be more work than doing the same art myself. You can get some good results as long as you don't try to beyond the boundaries of the model and... Drawings do that all the time. Then you find yourself using two or three different tools to get a mediocre result for one aspect of the image (AI really struggles with faces, hand and feet for example), or making a collage of several generations of options of the image. And in the end, the result may be visually appealing but you can tell it was done by AI. A good example of that is the infamous Corridor Crew anime video. They took 6 months to produce a short animation that a team of professional animators using modern animation tools would pull off in a fraction of the time. And their result certainly had a look to it, but the look of bad rotoscoping.
  3. I don't see what's so difficult about having presets override your selection once you select them. Nobody is losing their loved selection workflow and the export window is not lying to the user. When you select the "Entire Mix" preset, this is what you get, rather than someone else's interpretation of what a term which has a standardized mental model means.
  4. I don't think a company deserves anything more than that after doing the following: - Releasing a supposed solution to the problem which voids your warranty and doesn't solve the problem, then attempts to hide it at a later point. - Attempting to bribe customers which were selling their bad boards to a third party for testing.
  5. As mentioned before, AI is very good at shallow knowledge. Once you start getting into stuff humans can do without even thinking about, it trips up and starts making mistakes. Plus I'm fairly confident it will never sound like the music I do, mostly because it would require someone interested in it enough to train the model using it.
  6. And they added the stupid TMT thing to it which does nothing but add phase shifts into your mix you didn't ask for.
  7. Use anything smaller than 1080p and you cannot fit the interface window on the screen.
  8. If you have Waves plugins, they'll get scanned every single time you open Cakewalk.
  9. Absolutely. There's not a single scenario where you'd need both the Start Screen page and a project open, so it makes no sense for it to do that, especially considering the only function of the Start Screen is creating and opening projects. But then you lose its functionality. If the Start Screen can open automatically, why shouldn't it close automatically?
  10. The only libraries NI updates constantly to be compatible with their latest versions are their own and that's already at least 100 of them.
  11. AFAIK, no DAW can do that. Once you replace the plugin, you replace everything. There's no way for the DAW to know which plugins you're gonna use nor how to map old data to a new interface which may not even be compatible. As much as that's only one version increase of the same plugin, these are two completely different things for CbB.
  12. Another alternative would be AXP's SoftAmp PSA, which emulates the Sansamp PSA-1 rack preamp. This was once only available as a ProTools plugin (which comes with Intro). I did copy all factory presets from the actual unit for CbB and that plugin, but I couldn't find an appropriate place in the forums to post them.
  13. But inconsistency continues, because double clicking the pan knob on the sends allows you to type their value. And that's true for both the inspector strip and the console strip.
  14. You could always get one of those Flying W guitars and string one neck lefty and the other righty.
  15. Despite finding the workflow of Reason quite intuitive, they took away my Reason Limited download and completely ignored me when I asked about it.
  16. One of the things which kept me from even considering it was how gigantic the interface is and how you cannot make it smaller no matter what you try.
  17. Someone wants to look a lot like NeuralDSP by the looks of it.
  18. It's a bit hard for Antares to try the same BS Waves and Avid can do because... They have fierce competition at pretty much all price points. From the free stuff, to Graillon all the way to Waves Tune and Melodyne.
  19. Or you could use the free CHOW Tape, which can pretty much sound like any of those Tascam jobs due to how configurable it is.
  20. IKs strategy consists of giving new users very attractive deals then nick and dime them for every cent in their wallets once they're suckered in. And on the Modo Drum thing, it's hard to say. Sometimes the sounds don't even install right and you have to try multiple times. But most likely they expire. The Syntronik 2 ones do. I don't see why that would be different for Modo Drum. I'm pretty sure they would do the same thing with Modo Bass if it used samples. Or Amplitube.
  21. Audio Damage's Replicant also does the same thing.
  22. This is almost there. Almost. It does the swells and wash almost like a real cymbal. Maybe with some extra trickery, you can add what's missing on it.
  23. The sad part is they call it it The Reverse V when it should be called The Flying Chevron.
  24. At which point you want me to explain you don't own the land space your built your house on and just paid for permission to build there?
