Doing everything ITB it's easy to over polish the crap out of a tune with fx or too many tracks.

    can I get a WITNESS!

I'll take vibe over polish any day, sometimes I get neither!

    remix / master

It would be difficult for me to comment on the remix without hearing the original mix.

THIS is a very well played, arranged, and cool piece.

I am listening on jbl 308

in a large room with high cieling

I have my monitors dialed in to listen at a specific volume

I think the snare is a bit snappy

the toms a little buried when they come in

    and some other stuff

But HS, I am not one to tell you about your mix.

This is one kick arzz piece

and it doesn't matter what I think because I believe in the infinte variety of the soul, and this is cool

my biggest problem is pretending to know what I'm talking about

  5. I have learned that when HS has a test mix I better listen

You KILL it again and again

I need a little bit more DR

piano maybe just a tad to front

things get a little more settled at 222

    pull back the sax some

anyway, this is killer, and you must be a bot

therefore I have nothing to add,

except that this is top shelf

    jut a bit hot

I had a high school class called "Alienation and Discrimination" back in 1974. The lyrics of "She's Leaving Home" were in it, the first time I recall seeing a pop culture reference in a textbook.

My Mother, who played organ at Sunday Service, said that Blowin' in the Wind was played every Sunday for quite some time.  This was the RC church, and this was in the late 60's.

Anyway I thought I would share this workflow in case it's of help or interest to anyone else

Andy, I think you should attach a sound file so people can hear the finished product.  I have heard what you do using this method and it sounds very good to my untrained ears.  Providing an an example might spur others to dig a little deeper.  I know some bakers who measure all the ingredients, and others who just use the right amount without measuring.   The cakes by either are tasty.

In the near future, all mainstream popular music will be created by AI.   You can find instrumental music streams of all genres now on platforms that are generated by the machine.  Maybe not germane to the post, but in a way it is.

  8. I was never a Kiss fan, not because I didn't like the music, I just wasn't.  I do love seeing people who have great stories to tell.  I also know how the past resonates throughout our lives.  So long live all Kiss fans!

Old Joad always finds the deep cuts.

    1) Gain Automation

    2) gain rider waves/outlaw or other

    3) Compressor

That should tame just about anything!

yes, that should certainly do it.  I always did gain auto by drawing it in, now adding a rider on there after would certainly be worth a try, I could also use better mic technique😁

    thanks max
